Africa’s health story must be told by Africans.
Africa CDC is proud to support the Public Health Track within the African Union Media Fellowship Cohort 3.0, contributing to this newly introduced track under the wider cohort of 22 fellows from 18 AU Member States.
Welcoming the fellows to AU Headquarters, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, underscored the important role of African journalists in shaping the continent’s narrative. This reflects Africa CDC’s commitment to strengthening credible, evidence-based public health reporting across Africa.
Over the next 16 months, fellows in the Public Health Track will deepen their reporting on outbreak response, pandemic preparedness, and health security through mentorship and technical engagement.
Anchored in the Africa Health Security and Sovereignty Agenda, this initiative is helping build a stronger public health information ecosystem that is accurate, contextual, and responsive to African realities.
