Greetings Rastafari family. Pray everyone is blessed. Giving thanks for this new day. The Ancient of Days Elders Project has been caring for our elders, in Ethiopia, for many years. Our elders have benefited greatly from caregivers doing regular checkups, hospital/doctors appointments, organizing operations, and raising the funds for the well-being of our elders. The Ancient of Days Project is asking for assistance in the care of Merlin Sims (Astede Mariam) who is not able to look after herself. She has a full-time caregiver who cooks, cleans, and cares for her every day. The caregiver was being funded by Sister Astede's daughter who lives in Canada but has been hospitalized herself - and not able to continue sending the much-needed funds. The Ancient of Days Elders Project is asking for financial assistance of £175 a month to pay the caregiver and provide food. We all need to help if we can. We are looking for ones to pledge £10 to £20 for 6 months. If anyone can assist please contact Reuben Kush

The Ancients of Days Elders Project in Shashemene Ethiopia would like to thank one and all for the continued support given in terms of liking our page.

We also give thanks to Brother Pascal from France for his kind donation towards our meal programme for the elders in Shashemene.

Today (Sunday 17th May 2020) some of the Elders gathered together to enjoy a nutritious three course meal with juice...
The Elders project would also like to say many thanks to Brother Marcus Napthali for cooking the meal for them...which was enjoyed by all.

This meal program is something the Ancients of Days project wish to continue to do in support of our elders....Presently we can only manage with what funds we have once a week, yet it is hoped with your kindness and support to add additional meal days for them...With future ideas of weekly nutritional food parcels.

We will endeavour to keep you updated on this....

Lack of Support...
There are no government programs for any financial support or social security for our elders. Many do not have homes or jobs do to age and/or illness. Some can no longer care for themselves.

And giving thanks through prayer...
Giving thanks to God
For their sojourn here...
Such kind and gentle souls...well some of them...
From generations ago,
What they are to us,
They will never know
A sure and beaten path one hopes...
To guide along the way...
The dedicated laborer
Who's now old and gray...
Patriarchs and matriarchs,
And early pioneers...
The bridge that has brought us
As we've journeyed here...
Soldiers of great sacrifice,
Treasured more than art...
We honor, love and cherish them
Deep within our heart...
This is for our elders!
