We all know edible mushrooms in our modern cuisine. Functional mushrooms, however, are also widely used in ancient Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic and tribal healings all around the world as antioxidants, adaptogens, immune modulators and nootropics to treat a wide array of illnesses and promote longevity. All lives on earth rely more on this alien looking, funky tasting specie than we know. Recent study proves mushroom mycelia are the brains of our forests. Plants depend on mycelium to communicate and allocate nutritions. Mushrooms share roughly 30-50% genetic materials with human beings. More than 40% of pharmaceutical drugs sold today utilize natural or synthesised mushroom extractions. Mushrooms and their spores are everywhere. They are on the ground we walk, in the air we breath, and even on the clothes we wear. We share a symbiotic life with mushrooms, and the mushroom story is our story.
Functional mushroom products are not all made equal. The market is diluted with commercial products that adds little to none benefit to your overall wellbeing at an extremely high price point. Producers out there have incentives to reduce raw material quality and concentration in order to maximise profits.
