Feel the Acupressure
You may wonder just how and why a board of nails is such a beneficial tool for improving your overall well-being. The answer, in short, is acupressure.
Acupuncture is an essential part of traditional Chinese medicine practice. In acupuncture, all kinds of pain, disease and for example insomnia are relieved by placing sharp, long needles along the body’s meridians, or energy pathways. Acupressure works in the same manner, but without puncturing the skin.
Acupressure points can be found throughout the body, and an especially high amount of them are along the spine and on our hands and feet. Residing on the meridians, acupoints regulate the flow of prana or chi, the essence of our vitality, and when it flows freely, we are healthy.
Applying pressure on the acupoints stimulates the flow of blood as well, which also has a multitude of benefits for our physical and mental well-being, eg. releasing muscle tension, washing away toxins, improving digestion, and reducing pain. In the case of a board of nails, a little pain = a lot to gain!
That is because pain signals the brain to release endorphines, or the “happy hormones”, our natural pain killers, and as the pain reduces, another natural “wonder drug”, oxytocin, is released. This works as an anti-stress remedy, calming our nervous system and changing our too frequent mode of “fight or flight” to a much needed “rest and digest”. Relaxing the mind relaxes the body, and the balance is restored, our energy renewed and replenished. We feel healthy, happy and ready to step out into the world.
So, next time you feel down and lacking your flow, forget the pulla ja kahvia, and step on your braveboard instead.
Standing on nails is a self mastery practice to awaken the human spirit and activate every cell in the human body. Braveboard is biohacking at its best.
