The 2026 training calendar has been opened!
Course days with sheep and cattle are coming to our home farm, Karjataito Organic Farm in Lieto, and to Kylämäki in Turku. You can also order me to train elsewhere.
I am agrolog, licenced animal trainer and have competed on rescue, search, tracking, rapport & obedience since 1991 and teached on my own animal training company from 2001. I have been actively herding sheep and cattle for 32 years, as well as goats, geese, ducks, reindeer and pigs. In addition to working on the home farm, I have also worked with my kelpies as drowers / hire herders, transporting animals and doing landscaping work, dog-training new herds, searching for and catching hundreds of runaways, competing in both BC/AK and TS at all levels with several dogs and representing Finland at, among others, the European Cattle Herding Championship 10 in France 2019 and the Traditional Style Herding Championship 1 in Hungary 2023.
I teach livestock handling and welfare issues at vocational schools and courses. Our customers are agricultural uni, ProAgria, cattle & sheep clubs, farmers and hobby herders.
We have around 250 sheep where 50-100 sheep at Karjataito farm are suitable for training and competition all year round, depending on the season. This means that the sheep is either big lamb, or an adult dry sheep that is not pregnant or lactating. We also have young cattle that allow us to train with cattle.
The guiding thread of our operations is increasing the welfare of animals and understanding their body language and actions.
Our farm has several pastures of different sizes, a 22*25 illuminated sand field and a rotafield. We have facilities for organizing different types of trials.
