Extending Care Beyond the Hospital Walls: Supporting Patients’ Families

At Ummah Care, our mission has always been to provide holistic health and faithful care, not just to the patients but also to those who stand by them during their most difficult times their families.

When a loved one is admitted to the hospital, the emotional and physical strain on their relatives can be overwhelming. Many travel long distances, wait tirelessly at the bedside, and often sacrifice their own comfort to remain close to those they care for. Recognizing this silent struggle, we have stepped forward to provide essential support to these families.

Our initiative focuses on meeting some of their most immediate needs:
• Warm blankets to bring comfort during cold nights at hospital waiting areas.
• warm meals to ease their hunger and keep them going through long hours.
• Transportation assistance, ensuring they can visit their loved ones without the burden of unaffordable travel costs.

Through this effort, we aim to lift a small part of their burden so they can focus on what truly matters being there for their loved ones.

Every contribution, big or small, goes a long way in bringing warmth and relief to families during times of uncertainty. Together, we can create a ripple of care that touches not just patients, but their entire support circle.

We have had discussions with nurses and NUMs who can flag to us aswel as physically visiting hospitals to find out.

July Report – Ummah Care Mobile Medical Fiji.
“Holistic health, faithful care “

Alhamdulillah, with hearts full of purpose and hands ready to serve, July saw our team reaching 42 patients — each one a reminder of why we do what we do.

Our volunteers
5 doctors
1 physiotherapist
1 dietitian
2 nurses
Spanning areas from Lautoka, Ba, Nadi, Suva and even Labasa

33 Home Visits
We stepped into homes where treatment was needed most. From elderly patients to those bedridden, we brought not just medical care — but comfort, dignity, and presence. Our team ensured no one is left behind.
Oldest being 93 years old and youngest being 3 months old; we leave no one behind.

5 Wound Dressings
Each dressing was more than a treatment — it was a healing touch and a reassurance that they are not alone.

4 IDC Changes at Home
Changed with care, privacy, and respect, ensuring our patients remain comfortable in their own spaces. We know the struggles to get it change at centers where waiting times make it difficult for our elderly.

9 Tele-Consultations
For those who couldn’t be seen physically, we were still there — listening, guiding, and supporting, one call at a time.

8 Referrals to Tertiary Hospitals
Where care exceeded our scope, we made sure no one was left behind. Every referral was a bridge to advanced treatment and that no one is left alone.

7 Food Packs Distributed
More than just meals — these were packages of love, given with a smile and heartfelt dua, especially to those struggling most.

12 Sets of Adult Diapers
A small gift, but a big difference — bringing comfort and dignity to those silently enduring challenges.

💙 All services provided 100% free of charge.
Because every human being deserves compassionate healthcare — regardless of background or ability to pay.

Our medical team conducted a home visit recently to assess and provide care for an elderly, bedridden lady. The visit included a general medical assessment, review of her current condition, medications, and basic vitals. Support was offered to both the patient and her caregivers, with guidance on hygiene, nutrition, and mobility support.

The team ensured that she is comfortable and stable, and will continue to monitor her condition through regular follow-ups.

Complimentary sanitation products such as Diapers were also provided.

We at Ummah care, strive to provide mobile medical services for patients at their door step, FREE OF CHARGE.
