Gossip in the workplace never helps. It erodes trust, weakens teamwork, and adds unnecessary stress to an already demanding profession.

What often begins as “just a comment” can quickly grow into misunderstandings, damaged relationships, and a toxic work environment. Gossip rarely solves problems—it usually creates new ones.

If you hear gossip, you are not obligated to participate. It is perfectly acceptable to change the subject, remain silent, or walk away. Protecting your professionalism and peace is far more important than being included in conversations that offer no value.

Stay focused on your work. Treat others with fairness and respect. Let your actions, not your words, define your reputation. In the end, consistency and integrity speak far louder than rumors ever could.

☆ONE THING YOU SHOULD AVOID SAYING TO PATIENTS☆

As a nurse, there are many things we shouldn’t say to patients but this one tops the list..

“I’m not your nurse.”

It might sound harmless, but it can come across as dismissive.

Instead, try saying,

I’ll get your nurse, but in the meantime, how can I help you? Are you okay?”

This shows empathy, sets boundaries politely, and reminds the patient that you still care even if they’re not directly under your care.

Hope this makes sense?

Some emergencies aren’t solved with meds first.
Remove the trigger, save the patient.

Needing a day off doesn’t mean you’re weak, lazy, or ungrateful. It usually means you’ve been showing up for too long without pausing. Rest isn’t quitting. It’s maintenance. And it’s allowed. 🤍

[When as Nurses/ Carers & Healthcare Workers, we're able to pause grief because work, needed to be done first].

I Didn’t Cry When They Died — I Cried After

I didn’t cry when they died.
I charted.
I cleaned.
I nodded when someone said,
“Good job.”

My hands were steady.
My voice worked.
My face remembered what to do.

That’s the part no one warns you about.

The tears waited.
They followed me home.
Sat in the shower.
Showed up at 3 a.m.
When the room was quiet
and there was no one left to save.

I cried for the way I kept going.
For how normal death started to feel.
For the part of me that learned
to pause grief
until it was convenient.

I didn’t cry when they died.
I cried after
when my body finally realized
the emergency was over
and I was still standing in it.

The Oath in My Veins

They say an oath is spoken once
a ceremony, a word to keep.
But for me, it’s rivers running deep,
not just a promise, but my heartbeat.

It pulses beneath the scrubs I wear,
in every breath, every patient’s stare.
It’s in the trembling hands I hold,
in silent stories never told.

No badge can measure this weight I bear,
no title capture the love and care.
It’s stitched into marrow, sewn through skin,
a fire burning fierce within.

When night steals sleep and hope feels thin,
when sorrow knocks and doubt creeps in
the oath flows strong, a steady tide,
the reason I stand, the reason I fight.

Not spoken once, but lived forever,
in every shift, in every endeavor.
This oath isn’t words on a page,
it’s the song that carries me through every stage.

It’s the blood that runs through these veins,
the quiet strength that breaks through pains.
It’s who I am, not what I do
this oath is life. And life is true.

Nurses don’t stop being professionals
when the shift ends.

Having a life outside the hospital
does not erase integrity.

Rest days are not misconduct.
Joy is not unprofessional.
Being human is not a flaw.

We carry responsibility
that follows us beyond the clock.
We make critical decisions.
We protect lives.
We answer to ethics and law—
every single shift.

What we choose to do
on our own time
does not cancel that duty.

Professionalism lives in practice,
in accountability,
in consistency under pressure.

It’s shown in patient care.
In boundaries.
In how we show up when it matters.

Not in weekends.
Not in nightlife.
Not in assumptions.

Because balance prevents burnout.
Because rest protects patient safety.
Because healthy nurses give better care.
And professionalism doesn’t clock out.

Why I Chose Nursing.

Because knowing my presence
can change someone’s story.

Because even on their hardest days,
I can bring a moment of comfort.

Because the care I give today
can quietly shape a better outcome tomorrow.

Because noticing subtle changes
can protect a life before others see it.

Because vigilance is compassion in action.
And observation is an act of love.

Because nursing is more than tasks—
it’s understanding what isn’t said.

Because sometimes healing means curing.
And sometimes it means simply caring.

Because being there truly matters.
Especially when moments are fragile.

Because compassion leaves a lasting mark.
Because presence can be more powerful than words.
Because every shift is a chance to matter.
And because caring for others is my purpose.
