PUBLIC ADVISORY BY THE FIJI NATIONAL DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT OFFICE

CONTACT DIVISIONAL EOCs FOR EVACUATION CENTRE GUIDANCE

Given the heavy downpour currently being experienced in parts of the country, and the increased risk of flooding, the Fiji NDMO is strongly urging members of the public in affected and low-lying areas to move to higher ground while it is still daylight.

Early evacuation is critical to ensuring your safety, as well as the safety of emergency responders. Moving during daylight hours reduces risks and allows for safer and more coordinated assistance if required.

If you require assistance or need information on your nearest designated evacuation centre, please contact your nearest Divisional Emergency Operations Centre (Div EOC).

Stay alert. Stay safe. Look out for one another.

ACT NOW FOR ORAL HEALTH - Fiji Government LAUNCHES ORAL HEALTH MONTH ๐Ÿฆท ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฏ

Today the Ministry of Health & Medical Services - Fiji officially launch across Fiji, a timely reminder that we must act now to address the alarming levels of dental decay and gum disease affecting our people. Happy Smile, Happy Life!

Poor oral health does not only cause pain and discomfort โ€” it affects nutrition, school performance, productivity, and overall wellbeing. Many of these conditions are preventable, yet they continue to place a growing burden on families and our health system.

This month, we encourage every Fijian to take responsibility for their oral health by practising daily toothbrushing with fluoride toothpaste, making healthier food choices, visiting dental clinics regularly, and most importantly, teaching our children good oral hygiene habits from an early age.

Healthy smiles build confident children, stronger families, and a healthier nation.
Let us act today to protect the smiles of tomorrow.

Hon. Penioni Ravunawa - MP
Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services
