!!!!! WELCOME !!!!!!
Hello everyone, thank you for your interest in my profile and I wish you good impressions :) I created this profile because I want to share my travel and work adventures with you; I always try to do both (travel and work) at the same time.
How did it happen that from being a hitchhiker I became a masseuse on luxury yachts? Well - read my story!
For those who don't know me, my name is Joanna Deja;)
I graduated master study of physical education, I chose this studies consciously and with passion, I have been playing various sports all my life, most of the time it was volleyball. Unfortunately, the dreams of being a teacher in school did not come true, and looking at what is happening in schools today, I am probably even happier with that. I started my adventure with traveling only during my studies. I qualified for the Camp America program and in this way I came to the States for 3 months. Time overseas passed quickly and as usual in my case - crazy! I visited 10 states in that trip alone! I knew I had to go back there. After finishing my master's degree, I didn't know what to do, so I went abroad to earn some extra money... as it usually happens with young masters :P So I explored Rotterdam, Amsterdam, The Hague and other Dutch cities. That's a moment when my travel principle was created, that when I go somewhere, no matter where, I want to spend at least 3 months in a particulat country. In my opinion, a short vacation is not enough time to know the culture, interesting places and real life of local people. This is what I care about durinng my travels. Every 3 months I chose a different country, moved, quickly found jobs and safe place to stay, friends...
In this way I visited: the Netherlands, England, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, United States x 2, Germany, Greece, Tunisia, France, Monaco, Ireland, Austria, Wales and many other places. Most of the time I hitchhiked and used Couchserfing. I met amazing people, saw places that I would not visit with a guide. Local people showed me THEIR real world, THEIR traditional food, THEIR homes, THEIR works, THEIR LIFE, for which I have always been extremely grateful. In the meantime, I had to earn money so I was not ashamed to take a job as an ice cream seller or nanny, I even worked in a cheese factory and cutting roses - oh, poor my hands... Each of these works gave me valuable life experience, it put on my by way of new people - good and bad, it gave me a great lessons. I have smile at my face when I recall that times and people :)
But where did these massages and yachts come from? Somehow (actually because of my friend) I went for a cruise by a small sailboat along the coast of Miami. I spent the whole afternoon with the delightful Puerto Rican and his dog. I have never felt such peace and freedom before. Gentle rocking of the boat, interesting stories, lots of laught, the sun setting over the ocean, and behind the fameus skyscrapers of the Miami - that's when I discovered my second passion - sailing. Since then, wherever I went, I have always visited ports, tried to be near the sea or ocean. In Tenerife, I caught a cruise along the island, I have been also worked on a large pirate ship. I liked everything very much, and especially sunsets and wind in my hair :) Unfortunately, everything ends sometime.
In England, when I was working in an ice cream shop, I thought - 5 years of studying, what could I change here to get closer to my own profession? I knew that teaching at school was not possible, being instructor or trainer too... I always liked to take care of the physical condition, fitness and wellness, I already knew all the muscles and joints, movements and systems... and I like relaxation. My mother always said that with such large hands ( ;) ) and strenght I should be a masseuse ... exactly! The next day I paid for the course and attended training. I started slowly from the very beggining, a interesting and pleasant full body massage - Swedish. After that I practiced a lot on friends and family, joined in a group of massage exchanges with other masseurs - they gave me many valuable tips and advice and most important more experience. One day someone asked for how long I massaged because my touch was smooth and confident like I was a masseuse whole my life. It made me think. So that is a beggining of massaging, and yachts? Nothing but a continuation of passion for sailing. In the port of Valencia, sipping wine, I decided to talk to the catamaran Captain. And that's how I got on a cruise from Majorca, through Sardinia and Sicily to Greece. At that time I didn't know that what I was doing there (cleaning, cooking, service) was nothing more than being a Stewardess - but I knew I liked it. So I started looking for information, I did the courses and as soon as I got the certificates, I went by hitchhiking of course, to France. And there I found my first yacht and became a real Stewardess.
And how do you feel after reading? Please leave a comment if you like my writting style. Are you curious about the history from the United States? or maybe from Greece, Spain or Cyprus? Or what enchanted certificates will give you access to luxury yachts?
So I invite you to read my next posts :)
