I'm visiting my hometown and food plays a major part of our culture. There's one thing that absolutely shocked me: it's cheaper to eat at takeaway restaurants than cook at home from fresh, high quality ingredients. A very sad reality of modern culture. My kids are naturally trying everything (and mostly regretting it) but hey, we only come once a year.
Slovak traditional food is not an everyday treat (unless you're cutting wood all day long) - it's mostly potatoes and flour. However, there are delicious foods like 'sauerkraut' and 'bryndza' (a type of cheese) that I'm definitely missing when living in France.
We also have interesting wines and of course, beer, which is our national drink. More to follow.

Sometimes, we desperately need to switch off. That is why I created this book list - join me for a 10 day social media detox July 12 -21.
Here's why:
1. Without constant notifications and scrolling your brain gets a break from information overload.
2. Taking a break from content and comparison can lift your mood.
3. Detoxing encourages more face to face or meaningful communication.
4. Without the distraction of endless scrolling, you gain back hours for hobbies, self-care, nature, rest or anything that enriches your life.

So what do you actually eat on a grain free diet ?
It's pretty simple - whole food such as meat, eggs, veggies and fruit, minimum of processed food and no grains, potatoes and beans.

I find the grain free diet to be the easiest to stick to with great results for my mind and body.

As a health coach I highly suggest to take a DNA test to establish the best diet as your DNA results and your blood type are great guidelines to follow - I'm a blood type O and even if there's no scientific proof that nutrition according to your blood type works, it works for me and there's a chance it might work for you as well. Try it!

As for the DNA tests , it can advise you on the absorption of nutrients and I find it fascinating to explore the ancestors and their eating habits.
