Happy World Homeopathy Day!

Today marks the birthday of Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy and pioneer of the principle “like cures like.”

World Homeopathy Day is an opportunity to recognise the role homeopathy continues to play in healthcare globally, from its historical foundations to its ongoing use in modern medical practice.

At ECH, we are proud to support and represent medical doctors qualified in homeopathy across Europe, advancing research, strengthening standards, and promoting greater understanding of homeopathy in modern medicine.

A special thought today for Samuel Hahnemann, the German physician.

In 1790, he discovered homeopathy, and from that moment on, he devoted his life to research and his patients, despite the controversy surrounding homeopathy that persists to this day.

Historical fact: In 1831, a cholera epidemic ravaged Europe. Hahnemann proposed remedies and his method. The results were incredible: a mortality rate of 5 to 10%, whereas conventional medicine lost two-thirds of its patients. (Denis Fournier, 2019)

Patients who have chosen homeopathy see a difference in their quality of life; this is undeniable.

Today, let us celebrate this great man who prioritized the well-being of patients and the environment even before ecological issues were brought to the forefront.

The Revolutionary Doctor and Physician who changed 18th-century medicine and is the Founding Father of Homeopathy.

Born: April 10, 1755
Occupation: Revolutionary physician, doctor, scientist, lecturer, linguist, translator, founder of Homeopathy

He spoke 9+ languages, Practiced homeopathy in Paris, 1835-1843, lived to 88 and his work is STILL practiced globally today
He has a monument in Washington D.C. (and was the first physician to get one!)

Today homeopathy is practiced in 80+ countries, trusted by 200+ million people 💚

Rachel Roberts (HRI Chief Executive) and Prof Ashley Ross (HRI Trustee) were delighted to be invited by the Hong Kong Association of Homeopathy to present at a symposium in Hong Kong attended by Zheng Linyun, Deputy Executive Director of Shanghai Academy of International Standardization of Traditional Medicine. The event, which was featured as a news item on a national government TV channel in China, addressed the important topic of international standards for homeopathic practice, as well as considering the latest clinical research on homeopathy and the next steps needed to further develop the evidence base.
