Melanoma is a form of skin cancer of which there are many versions. Untreated melanoma is a killer disease. Labeled as a skin cancer, it can however spread to any organ in the body including the brain.

Globally, cases of melanoma are predicted to rise 18% by 2025. In France, Brittany has the highest national number of melanoma cases with over 1600 deaths every year.

However, Brittany is lucky in that on her doorstep based at CHU Nantes there is a skin cancer research team under the leadership of Professor Lise Boussemart.

This fundraising project is aimed at raising money for research on melanoma. Most money raised for cancer research is spent on breast and colon cancer research.

This project ensures that all money raised here will be received by Professor Lise Boussemart at Fonds de Dotation de CHU Nantes.

Remember, research findings are shared internationally so where ever you are you may well benefit.
