The majority of the success of your garden harvest depends on 3 factors —-> 1) understand your environment, 2) choose the right plant for those conditions ( think temperature and sun requirements), 3)Taking care of and improving your soil.
After some trials, mistakes, and lots of study 📚, starting with good soil is the number 1 thing I found that is crucial to determining the success of my garden. Healthy soil means that the plant is able to thrive in an environment that supports its growth through natural nutrient exchange and protection, with the help of abundant microorganisms that live in the soil and on the plant 🪴🥰 Soils can be improved by introducing microorganisms via composts 🪱Creating homemade compost is a great way to use up scrap organic materials like kitchen veggie scraps, garden waste, dried leaves, shredded paper and coffee grounds and allow these to be teamed up with biology and microbial life to be added to garden beds. This microorganisms help to convert minerals in the soil into plant available forms that are ready to use when the plant needs them, without the need to add extra synthetic fertilisers! Thanks for the great talk about this at last year’s ’s Gardening Summit
