Day 8: Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana
Next in the standing series, the first of the 2 balancing postures. Let’s not beat about the bush, this one is not easy, but it is so much fun to say!
Inhale lengthen, take the foot, exhale forward fold 5 breaths, inhale back to standing, exhale open the foot to the side 5 breaths, inhale back to centre, exhale fold, inhale back to standing, exhale both hands on hips, extend top leg straight 5 breaths, exhale releeeeeease😮💨
Key to this asana is to forget straightening the lifted leg before getting the standing leg grounded - once you find grounding through the balancing leg the breath and energy will flow and then the lifted leg, well that’s between you and your hamstrings 🙃 modification: take the knee instead of the foot while balancing ✌️
