I’ve been pretty open about my skepticism regarding doula training programs in general and “requirements” for end of life doulas, and have always been a passionate advocate for getting death education out there to your community (sensitively) so that we can raise overall awareness and help the most amount of people! That being said, today I’m coming here to recommend a course 😱 by a former teacher of mine - and author of “Cultivating the Doula Heart” and “Living Fully and Dying Prepared”.

Francesca was my instructor when I was beginning my eol doula studies with the University of Vermont’s doula program. It was their very first offering, and Francesca was just the most welcoming, warm and informative presence. Over the years I’ve continued to learn from her offerings, as I’m sure many of you reading this have. When she approached me to tell me about her new Death Literacy Educator program and asked if I’d like to be a partner, I was so beyond excited to explore the program.

I’m here to recommend it to you, officially (and I do not do this lightly). It is a comprehensive online course and community all about gaining knowledge about the dying process, grief, and delivering sensitive information with skill. At the end of the course, you’ll be able to establish yourself as a trusted source of vital information and compassionate support in your community.

Well it’s been a year of riding the waves of change and growth. The Center closed its doors, we welcomed new life into the world, and a few projects have come to fruition. My biggest areas of focus heading into 2025 are observing how I choose to speak, and what I choose to put my attention and energy into. My biggest goals are to serve others from a state of pure gratitude and earnestness and that my words are promoting peace and love. I know this all sounds very corny 😃 I will do my best. Would love to hear your intentions if you’d like to share 🤍

Thank you to anyone who has supported my efforts this year, and for every kind message. I appreciate your ongoing support, as I recently found out I need to come up with quite a large sum of money for endometriosis/adenomyosis surgery. I’m sharing this because it feels good to.. and you feel like my friends. I’m not worried, somehow.. I know it will all be OK! The Self-led Living Funeral kit is a mailorder version of the living funeral ceremony, intended to empower individuals to move through the living funeral ceremony on their own time, in their own space. This kit is for anyone desiring to experience the living funeral who, for whatever reason, cannot attend an in-person or online event, or simply wishes to go it alone ( with pre-recorded guidance, of course ).

The beauty of this kit is that it allows the user to dip into the mortality meditation whenever and wherever they please..whether it be once per year at a special tree, or once per month in their office.

The kit comes in either a USB-stick version, or a cassette tape with accompanying downloadable documents.
