Studio update 🔥🔥🔥
Team, I can’t believe it. But we finally have heat - and control of the heat!!!
If you’ve ever been to the studio and thought “I’m not coming back because it’s too hot” or “I’m not coming back because it’s too cold” well please know that now is the time to come back 😂 Cause we have proper heating!!
I cannot believe that it’s been nearly two years since we opened the studio, at which point we couldn’t get the radiators off of full blast - constantly… I had poor teachers doing classes mid December with the windows wide open to try and make the temperature manageable for folk! Then the whole system would crash and we’d go for weeks with just the wee plug in radiators trying to warm the whole studio, or just cancelling classes cause the studio was too cold to be usable. Back and forth, back and forth. It’s been a ride. And one I’m very glad is over!
I ended up buying infrared heaters for the studio, after some lovely advice from fellow teachers and studio owners. On Saturday the studio was finally empty for a long enough stretch that me and my husband could get in to install them. I had envisaged this glorious moment where we’d install the last one and then I’d step back and probably have a wee cry cause it was all working finally - this was not the case 😂 I stepped back and couldn’t get the fecking thing connected to the wifi and there was no instructions to tell me what the remote was doing! So I had a cry from frustration 🙈 We went home in time for Rob to watch the Scotland game. I sat on YouTube trying to work out what had gone wrong - only to figure it out at 11pm, after two beers, so couldn’t drive back to test out my theory! I then lay in bed just thinking about it, like a nutter, until 5am when I jumped in the car and went back to the studio and finally got it working 😂🙈 Success!!!
So hopefully this will make our classes at Breathing Space Studio extra wonderful! Especially for things like Slow Club, Wednesday night Yin and prenatal classes ♥️ We have heat team! I’m delighted 🥰

If you don’t know me already, I’m Laura. I’m a recently qualified yoga teacher, completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in the summer of 2020. I began my career in fitness back in 2016 when I became a group exercise instructor, working in various gyms across Aberdeen teaching Les Mills Bodycombat, Bodypump, then a little later Bodybalance. I also gained a Level 3 certificate in Sports Massage at the end of 2017, which I feel has given me a good base knowledge of the body and how it functions.
After various injuries from the repetitiveness of my daily group exercise classes, I discovered a love of yoga; enjoying the deep stretch, the graceful strength building, but most of all the playful poses and quirky transitions. During lockdown I have been lucky enough to practice yoga almost daily, and feel I’ve learnt a great deal from these online classes. They’ve allowed me to take inspiration and gain knowledge from so many brilliant teachers.
You’ll enjoy a fun, flowing vinyasa practice with me, always with the Vinyasa Kramer element of working step by step towards a goal, or a pose. I personally love a bit of repetition during a practice, so enjoy structuring this into my own classes to allow students to find confidence in a sequence of poses, giving them the chance to pick up the pace then explore and play with their asanas. I’d very much like to think you’d leave one of my classes feeling uplifted, a little stronger, and a little sweaty!
Please, please, please - Don’t be afraid to give me a shout if you have any questions! If you’re new to yoga you are welcome, if you don’t know me you are welcome... We’re just about having some stretch, strength and fun on the mat. And maybe learning a little to boost our mental wellbeing along the way.
