The Archie Foundation

The Archie Foundation The ARCHIE Foundation is making the difference for sick children in the North of Scotland, the Northern Isles and the Highlands.

The ARCHIE Foundation is the official charity of the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, the Children's Wards in Inverness and Elgin and Community based Child Health throughout Grampian, Highland, Orkney and Shetland. All monies donated to the ARCHIE Foundation go directly towards ‘making the difference’ for sick children and their families in the North of Scotland.

‘Making the Difference’ for close to 100,000 patients every year, the ARCHIE Foundation provides all of the extras that allow an enhanced level of care for local children. We provide key staff posts such as the ARCHIE Specialist Nurse, the ARCHIE Music Therapist and the ARCHIE Family Support Worker. We buy life changing medical equipment and fund specialist training to ensure the local healthcare teams can always provide the most up-to-date and high quality care. We Buy toys, books and computer games, run art workshops and provide musical concerts in the hospital – often at the bedside of children who are too sick to come to our communal play areas.

General information

The ARCHIE Foundation relies wholly on support from the local communities of the North of Scotland. We receive no financial support from the NHS or from the local authorities. We need your help to keep making a difference in local children’s lives when they need it the most. Can you organise a fundraising event? Whether a ball for 500 people or a dinner party at home where you ask your guests to make a donation for the privilege – every single penny really does help. Our fundraisers do almost everything to raise money. Some run, others bake, a few even jump out of planes! But they all have one thing in common. They all make a difference to local children when they are sick. And we are all very grateful.
