Healthy Hoose announcement

The Nurse Practitioner service at the Healthy Hoose, which has been one of the services on offer to the communities of Middlefield, Cummings Park, Northfield and Heathryfold in Aberdeen for more than 20 years, is to temporarily close on Tuesday 01 March 2022.

Prior to March 2020, the Nurse Practitioner service was available five days per week but was suspended during the global pandemic due to the unprecedented challenges posed by Covid-19 during the past two years on NHSGrampian and Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership. More recently, the Nurse Practitioner service has been delivered by two Advanced Nurse Practitioners three days per week as the Health and Social Care Partnership aimed to support all services to resume whilst responding to the ongoing challenges brought about by the pandemic.

The two Advanced Nurse Practitioners are due to leave the service and the temporary closure is necessary to recruit staff. During this time, we will take the opportunity to review the service and identify ways to further improve provision for the areas currently served by the Healthy Hoose, and the wider city.

We will seek views from service users through the Locality Empowerment Groups newsletters and meetings and will invite services users to be part of a Short Life Working Group that will inform the development of a refreshed Nurse Practitioner service. In addition, the Healthy Hoose page will post updates and links for our service users to provide feedback and suggestions.

Service users can continue to access Primary Care services in the following ways:
