✨It's Fun-Filled Friday!✨
Did you know nursery rhymes are more than just catchy tunes? 🎶
They play a big role in helping children develop early speech, language, and communication skills!
How they help:
✨ Build early vocabulary
✨ Strengthen listening and sound awareness
✨ Encourage turn-taking and interaction
✨ Support memory and sequencing
✨ Boost confidence in joining in with words, sounds, and actions
✨ Lay foundations for later reading and literacy
From “Humpty Dumpty” to “Wind the Bobbin Up”, every rhyme offers rich opportunities for communication.
When we add visuals, the impact grows even stronger!
Using song bags, song books, and interactive symbols helps children:
🎨 Understand the rhyme:
Visuals give children concrete clues about the meaning of the words.
✋ Join in more easily:
Symbols and objects help them anticipate what comes next, great for little ones who are still developing expressive language.
🧠 Remember the sequence:
Pictures, props, or puppets support memory and storytelling skills.
💬 Communicate in more ways
Visuals encourage pointing, choosing, turn-taking and give non‑speaking children ways to take part.
🤝 Stay engaged for longer:
A song bag full of surprises makes communication fun and interactive!
