Last Week at Galgorm – A French-Inspired Treat! 🇫🇷

Our residents enjoyed a fantastic French Theme Day complete with fresh baguettes, buttery croissants, juicy grapes and strawberries. We even learned a few French phrases – “bonjour,” “merci,” and “je m'appelle...." were favourites of the day! 🗣️🇫🇷

We put on our aprons and baked a classic jam and coconut sponge cake – it was a hit all around! 🍰

🎶 A big thank you to Susan for singing for us on Wednesday and keeping spirits high💃

🎨 Creativity was flowing during our arts and crafts sessions, with residents enjoying colouring and drawing their favourite animals.

Our residents have had a great time today getting stuck into some fun activities! 🥰

This morning, we rolled up our sleeves and baked delicious cheesecake sponges 🧁

In the afternoon, we got crafty with sticker scene books, letting everyone’s imagination run wild. A wonderful way to relax, reminisce, and get creative together 🙂

🧶🎶 From Needles to Notes! 🎶🧶

What started as a peaceful morning in our Knitting Club quickly turned into a joyful sing-along session! 💕

Our lovely residents were in fine voice today – and not to be outdone, the staff jumped in with a few dance moves! 💃🕺

Smiles, laughter, and a few off-key notes (we won’t name names 😄) made it a morning to remember.

🇮🇹 Pizza & Italy Day at Galgorm Care Home! 🍕

Today our residents took a little trip to Italy... without leaving the dining room! 🇮🇹✨

We learned some fun and fascinating facts about Italian culture and, of course, the history of pizza! Afterwards, everyone got creative decorating their own pizzas with toppings of their choice🍅🧀🍕

A very enjoyable afternoon; we must say, our residents are quite the chefs!

🧶🍰🎨 A Week Full of Creativity at Galgorm!

The knitting club got together for their weekly session; sharing stories, laughter, and working on some beautiful pieces 😊

In the kitchen, the sweet smell of marble cake filled the air as our residents baked a delicious treat together! 🎂

Over in crafts, everyone got hands-on painting wooden vases and decorating them with hand-painted flowers 🌹

We’re already looking forward to next week’s activities – there’s always something new to enjoy, create, and share together! 😄

It’s been a fun filled week so far in Galgorm 😊

💪 We started our week right with armchair exercises on Monday morning; keeping bodies moving and spirits high!

🫖 During our interactive storytelling session today, we explored the fascinating world of tea – from its rich history to its many flavours! The residents enjoyed smelling and tasting varieties like cinnamon, peppermint, licorice and masala chai – sparking wonderful conversations and memories ☕

♟️ A special moment this week – one of our residents gave Emma-Jayne a lesson in chess! It's lovely to see knowledge being shared across generations.

And of course, lots of fun with a lively game of animal bingo 🐾

Today, our wonderful resident Ellen celebrated her 105th birthday surrounded by family, friends, music and joy! 💐💖

The day was filled with unforgettable moments – from lively performances of the talented Irish dancers of Royal Tara, to a special visit from Colonel Neil Salisbury, OBE, DL, representing the Lord Lieutenant of Co.Antrim.

Ellen and all the residents were also treated to entertainment from the amazing Stacey Harbinson, which brought smiles all around 🎶💃

Ellen’s milestone is a true inspiration to us all and it was an honour to share such a magical day with her 🥳🎂

This morning our residents enjoyed an interactive story time all about the Great Wall of China! 🏯

We discovered that the wall is an incredible 13,000 miles long 🤯 – what an amazing fact to learn together! Residents also discussed Chinese food and traditions and even had a go at using chopsticks 🥢 which brought lots of fun and laughter.

It was a wonderful morning of learning, sharing and trying something new ❤️

Today was made even more special as she received her official birthday card from Buckingham Palace, a treasured tradition for those reaching this remarkable milestone 👑📜
