This year if you’re heading out guising, trick or treating, or to a Halloween party, we’d like everyone to have 🧛‍♂️ fang-tastic fun whilst staying 👻 spook-tacularly safe!

Here are some ways you can enjoy Halloween whilst being safe:

🎃 Stay visible – wear reflective clothes and carry a torch when walking at night
🎃 Drive carefully – keep an eye out for guisers and trick or treaters
🎃 Keep calm and carve on – use appropriate tools for pumpkin carving and use LED tealights to light them to avoid open flames
🎃 Plan ahead – for adult Halloween partygoers, drink responsibly and plan your journey home before heading out

Meet the Team! 👋

This is Frank.

Frank has been a Community First Responder and Cardiac wildcat responder for scottish ambulance in our area since December 2022. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors and running.

💡 Interesting fact: Frank is a living kidney donor and has proudly competed in ten British Transplant Games and two World Transplant Games.

🕊️ Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. 🕊️

We pause to remember the lives lost, support those grieving, and stand with our community in hope and action.

Our first responders are trained and equipped with naloxone kits – a life-saving tool that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. 💜

Together, we can help reduce stigma, spread awareness, and save lives.

We would like to take the time to give our congratulations to one of our First Responders Frank who gives a lot of his time to responding in our community.

He travelled to Germany this week to compete in the World transplant games after donating a kidney to his son and absolutely smashed it out the park entering 5 events and returning back to Scotland with 4 medals absolutely outstanding!!! 🥈 🥉 🥉🥉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Kevin leads the Community First Responder team in our area and has been doing so since 2022. In his spare time he enjoys flying, the outdoors and reading. Interesting fact; when he was a soldier his drill Sgt nicknamed him Beethoven due to his hairdo and love of music, the irony.

Our incredible community First Responder, Frank, is heading to Oxford to compete in the Transplant Games—representing Glasgow Children's Hospital as a living kidney donor.

Frank generously donated a kidney to his son 11 years ago, and now he's showing the power of donation and recovery on a national stage. Let’s cheer him on!
