Sad to hear that Giacomellis is closing its doors. It was such a brilliant idea and something genuinely different for anyone needing proper gluten free chippy options in Lanarkshire and beyond.

Fair play to the team for giving it a go and best of luck with the new concept, hope it’s a big success.

After much reflection, we have made the difficult decision to close Giacomellis West Coast Fish Bar (Gluten Free Takeaway).

Our final day of trading will be Sunday 15th March.

This concept was created with real heart — a fully dedicated gluten-free takeaway, built to provide a safe and trusted option for those who needed it most. We are incredibly proud of the standards we upheld and the customers who supported a specialist product from day one.

However, despite our best efforts, the level of ongoing trade required to sustain a single-focus gluten-free model has simply not been there. As a small independent business, decisions like this are never taken lightly.

To say thank you, we will be running special offers and discounts right up until our final day on 15th March. We would truly love to see as many familiar faces as possible before we close the doors.

This is not the end for the West Coast brand.

We are excited to confirm that the site will be undergoing a transformation with a new concept coming soon keep your eyes peeled and we hope you will continue the journey with us.

Gluten free Colin the Caterpillar is finally here 🐛🍰
Landing this Wednesday 28 January and at the SAME price as the regular cake at Marks and Spencer food.
🤩

This feels like a big win for the gluten free community and I cannot wait to give it a try.

I've always got a Bliss Snacks bar in the cupboard for a chocolate snack, especially now that we are in the post Christmas phase. I like these for a little pre gym snack or just when I want a low calorie choco fix. They are gluten free of course and it's nice to see some new varieties appearing in B&M Stores 🙌

I'm a big fan of bars and after eights, so when I saw that they had launched mint choc, they went straight on my Christmas list.

It's a struggle finding a gluten free protein bar so I'm so thankful for Yubi and the range of great flavours for an on the go snack.

I've not managed to get in-store yet but what are your thoughts on the prices?

Now would be a good time to stock up for the new year!

Hopefully one day our staple products will match those in the regular aisles and more retailers jump on board with these kind of events and help their free from customers.

This year brought some really proud moments, especially being able to share my own story during Coeliac Awareness Month and stand alongside the community at things like the Downing Street petition hand in and visits to Tesco HQ. Being part of that, both through my work with Coeliac UK and personally, meant a lot.

There were also moments of loss and reflection, and my thoughts are with anyone who’s had a tough year. 💔💞

Thank you to everyone who’s followed me and interacted. Let’s keep pushing together, supporting one another, and moving into 2026 with hope, kindness, and hopefully more gluten free options on the shelves and in food venues. 🧡

Day 3 of Five Days of Christmas 🎄

Today’s parcel included gluten, milk and egg free millionaire’s shortbread and Christmas cake candles, and it’s now clear each box has a festive showstopper cake theme running through it.

Day 1 was the Merry Christmas topper.
Day 2 brought gf sprinkles.
And today, it’s Christmas candles.

I’m loving seeing what’s inside each day’s present, such a lovely touch from LazyDay.
