I’m often asked what parents can do at home to help their little ones improve tongue mobility.

Working on tongue mobility can be beneficial for a variety of reasons, including preparation for optimal timing of a tongue tie division and to aid and encourage nasal breathing.

Making exercises fun is really important - these toys are perfect for doing just that!

✨Teething sticks - great for getting the tongue moving side to side
✨Oball - the little circles encourage sticking the tongue out
✨ Tummy time mirror - brilliant at keeping little ones entertained and lifting their head to help build up neck strength and stretch out under the chin

How old does your baby need to be to have osteopathy?

There really are no age limits - come in whenever you feel ready to bring them!

Osteopathy is a very gentle and safe treatment that is tailored to the individual. I’ve treated babies as young as a few days old (which is always super special! ✨)

It’s also never too late - even if your little one is now in their toddler years, they are more than welcome to come in for a session.

Hi everyone!

I thought it was about time to reintroduce myself if I’ve not met you!

✨I’m Kate and I am an osteopath with a special interest in paediatric osteopathy.

✨ I completed my post graduate training in paediatrics in 2018 and set up Edge Osteopathy.

✨I’m very grateful to work alongside lots of amazing birth workers,infant feeding specialists and healthcare professionals.

✨I particularly enjoy treating babies pre and post tongue tie division, to aid optimal timing of procedure. Tongue tie is often just one piece of the puzzle!

✨Whilst a-lot of my work is treating babies, I also treat lots of adults for all kinds of musculoskeletal issues - I really enjoy the variety!

Looking forward to seeing you in clinic!
