NHS funded eye examinations are available for all eligible patients. These eye tests are usually available every two years, however, if you meet certain eye health criteria you may be entitled to more frequent testing.
In addition, you may be eligible for funding towards the cost of your spectacles or contact lenses. If you are unsure please ask us during your next appointment.

At Hamers, we offer OCT* scans as an addition to your sight test. These scans are used for the diagnosis, management and treatment of a variety of ocular conditions, such as macular edema, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, macular hole, glaucoma, drusen, retinal detachment, occulsions or bleeding, etc.
An OCT eye exam is a non-invasive test that provides 3-D color-coded, cross sectional images of the retina to enable early detection and treatment of ocular disease that may develop without any noticeable symptoms.
*Our OCT scan is an additional £30 charge.

Here are just a few of our displays for men's and women's spectacles in shop. We stock designer brands such as Gucci, Raybans, Longchamp, Calvin Klein, Lacoste, Dune, Michael Kors, etc. We also stock frames that are easier on the budget like NHS-funded frames, children’s frames, safety glasses and sports specs.

As well as glasses, we provide daily, monthly, toric and varifocal contact lenses from brands like Clariti, Acuvue, Biofinity, Air Optix, Proclear and many more.
