Joyful Ponies offers a range of services using miniature Shetland ponies, miniature American ponies and pygmy goats, including animal assisted therapy visits which can be to schools, nurseries child minders or care homes. Inspired by an amazing little pony called Joy that made everyone smile! Joyful Ponies are fully insured and licensed. Animal assisted activities can offer a variety of benefits to both children and adults. The smaller sized ponies & pygmy’s can be less intimidating and seem more approachable. Spending tine with the ponies & pygmy’s is naturally relaxing and can reduce stress, anxiety levels and blood pressure. It can also stimulate the senses and encourage the release of endorphins and positive brain chemicals like serotonin which helps to keep us happy and calm. Grooming the ponies & pygmy’s alone can increase hand dexterity, joint mobility and improve muscle strength, balance and coordination while encouraging people to communicate and talk to the ponies. On Sunday Ruby & Tessa went along to the wedding fair at Norwood Hall Hotel, a stunning venue on the outskirts of Aberdeen. A big thank you to The Secret Garden in Aboyne for providing the flowers – such a creative way to dress up our ponies. The fresh blooms were the perfect splash of colour and charm for our wee stars! 🌸🐴

Private hire availability:

We only operate one Park at a time - so you can change your mind on the day (or if a first visit
After seeing them both) which means you don’t have to worry about shared fence lines. We are also manned (except 7am which is an unmanned slot for early risers!) so there’s someone here to open gates (no padlocks or codes to remember) but we can be pretty incognito if your dog is human reactive.

We have a compost toilet (for the humans), hot water shower with fresh towels and lots of lovely shampoos/conditioners, and a Bothy for hot/cold drinks and some snacks. There’s even some seasonal bandanas to purchase at the moment

Each park has benches, toys, jumps, weave poles, sandpit, stop and sniff herb gardens, scent pipes, treat trees, photo boards, automatic drinkers and poo bags and bins.

Mon: 7am/8am/2pm/4pm/5pm/6pm
Tues: 7am/8am/9am/3pm/4pm/5pm
Wed: 7am/8am/9am/10am/noon/1pm

You can check our availability at any time on the website - months in advance if you’d like- but I post here for the gentle nudge in the hope you’ll book a slot and visit us. One (or two) hours here really is a great way to put a smile on your dogs face (and hopefully yours too!)
