Since running our Masterclass on Nutrition and Strength Training, with a particular focus on Peri/Menopause with at yesterday I've been reflecting on just how much I love what I do🙌.

When you're passionate about what you do, getting up for work every day is no hardship, especially when you're part of such an awesome team, where every single coach has the same passion and drive 😍.

My journey so far has been an exciting one, from Nursing, to becoming a PT.

To Competing in Bodybuilding competitions including the World Championships where I placed 8th and winning many other titles including Miss Scotland🏆.

To Gaining a 1st Class Degree in Sport and Exercise Science, and a Masters Degree in Nutritional Science.

To then going on to coaching so many fabulous Clients including a few high profile ones😊.

To delivering Nutrition talks to big Organisations like AXA Global Health care and local ones which I love the most😀.

I've been on Radio Newcastle twice, written articles for Living North Magazine and helped hundreds of people so far😍.

Doing what I do is a privilege helping to enrich people's lives, giving them the gift of Health and Fitness ❤️🏋️‍♀️.

I have big plans at Urban Fitness, undoubtedly the best place to be for achieving your Health and Fitness Goals💪🏼🥳. We have an abundance of knowledge and experience between us, and are able to offer help and guidance to all ages and abilities.

Everything is achievable under our guidance 🙌.

Well its the start of a New Year, and we all have big plans and goals that we want to achieve 😀.

When it comes to Health and Fitness Goals, they are often short lived unfortunately😒.

The motivation is there initially, then it gradually wears off when results don't come fast enough or the boredom kicks in😴.

My clients never get bored or lose motivation training with me at Urban Fitness because no training session is ever the same😁. Everyone starts to feel better and see results in a short space of time 💪🏼🙌.

By sticking (roughly 😂 ) to your guidelines set earlier this year I am at my lightest weight I have been in as long as I can remember.

Even 1 stone lighter than I was when I got married some 17 yrs ago 😂!

I feel more confident and I'm far more able to control my cravings for lurpack and sugar 😂.

Having the knowledge and mindset tools is such an enormous benefit as it influences all my food choices.

Thank you again for sending me off down the correct nutrition road through all your guidance and support xx"

Things that I have learned about my body since turning 40🥳!

Strength training is more important than ever💪🏼!

Physically inactive people can lose as much as 3% to 5% of their muscle mass each decade after age 30. Even if you are active, you'll still have some muscle loss🙈.

Any loss of muscle matters because it lessens strength and mobility and alters you metabolism and the rate at which you burn off calories🔥.

This is why many middle aged people suffer from "Middle aged spread"🙄!

Are you eating the same foods as usual and are wondering why you're gaining weight?

Often its due to a loss of muscle mass.

Less muscle on your body means that you require less calories!

Bring on the MIDDLE AGED SPREAD!!!

To help counteract this weight gain and to keep your muscles strong and supple, you need to do some form of strength training at least twice a week💪🏼.

A circuit that works all of the major muscle groups is ideal, and you should be using weights that allow you to carry out 8-12 repetitions of each exercise. If you can do 20 its too light!

Heather is one of these exceptional clients 😍.

Let's be honest...I don't give anyone an easy ride during sessions😤. I've thrown a lot at Heather, advancing her sessions as she's progressed, and she's never once said "I can't do that".

She put her complete trust in me, knowing that I wouldn't ask her to do something that she couldn't achieve.

This is what PT should be like. Building a rapport between the two of you, and building an unbreakable trust, knowing that you're in the best hands😁.

Here is what Heather has to say about working with me so far on her journey...

"I have been training with Pip since July and have really enjoyed the sessions. She pushes me hard but it is fun as she is so warm, encouraging and friendly.
