My work truly is my passion and I really do put my heart and soul into guiding every single amazing lady that I work with.

Here is Adriennes story...

"I started working with Pip over a year ago.

Thank you, Pip just doesn’t seem enough for the difference you have made to my life, infect getting my life back!

I signed up to work with Pip for a six week in depth look a my diet, following a long absence from work due to burn up in April 2021. I’m a nurse and the pandemic had hit me hard, along with breakdown of a long term relationship.

I was so fatigued, my skin and hair in a dreadful condition, so much joint pain, I’d wake up crying thinking life was over at 64 years old!

Instinct and 45 years as a nurse told me that improved nutrition was the key – never realising quite how much Pip would help me in other areas of my life.

Internet searching brought me to Pip, despite being opposite ends of the country – technology connected us. We quickly developed a great rapport, Pip was understanding, affirming and “got me” on our initial introductory call. I completed a detailed history, a three day meal plan of my usual diet – was totally honest about my sugar content, the chocolate snacks – no point in being any different this had to work!

I was determined that life had more in store and through Pip’s patient private sessions through FB/Zoom I was able to change and adapt. I always had access for questions and anytime that I was stuck – her response was always swift, even when she was on holiday.

I said at the beginning that I didn’t want a teaspoon of this and a long list of special ingredients – Pip set me up with an easy to follow plan that I could cope with when travelling for work staying in hotels, encouraging each step of the way, adding tweaks, recipes and good sound advice.

I feel now that I have a friend for life, after our six weekly zoom calls, numerous advice and not just about nutrition but coaching in exercise, pacing the transition back to work, being kind to myself through gratitude, affirmations and journaling.

The result even a year later has been sustainable, am now virtually pain free, no more waking with painful joints, have managed a big move to the West Country to renovate a house, no IBS symptoms, walking and wild swimming, sleeping better, receiving comments on how well I look – everyone says I’ve lost weight but no idea as no scales but clothes feel better. I thought life was over but Pip has transformed my habits and my life!

This was an investment in me and my future – the journey continues and I now feel I have the health and vitality to continue with a sustainable, healthy lifestyle into the future. Never will I allow myself to feel so ill again and the words “Thank you” really don’t seem enough – Pip you are amazing, you have transformed my life, that I can live the life I want, ensconced in nature, family and friends – bring it on!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, lovely lady – I shall always be so grateful!

So I have been talking about Serotonin and how it affects your mood😕😃!

90 - 95% of it is produced in the Gut, so eating the right foods is necessary to boost your Mood🥳.

Yesterday I mentioned that there are 2 basic things that you can do to boost you Gut Health. Check out yesterday's post for number One, and here's number Two...

Eat more Prebiotic foods to feed the good bacteria.

Think Fibre!

Fruit and Vegetables, Beans, Pulses and Wholegrains.

A great breakfast combination loaded with Prebiotics and Probiotics is Oats, Banana and Yoghurt, topped with mixed seeds and a little honey.

It covers all bases with Protein, Carbs, Healthy Fats and Fibre 🥳!!!

In my last post I mentioned about Serotonin and how it affects your mood😕😃!

As 90 - 95% of it is produced in the Gut, it makes sense that if you look after your Gut Health it will boost levels and your Mood🥳.

Although its not quite as straightforward as this, there are 2 basic things that you can do...

Eat probiotic food daily to boost the good bacteria in your Gut.

Think Probiotic Yoghurt, Kefir, Sauerkraut, Kimchi and Kombucha.

These are all readily available in most Supermarkets😃.

Check out my next post for the second tip!!!

Do you know what Serotonin is???

In simple terms, its responsible for our mood and how we feel, so if your levels are low you might suffer from anxiety and depression.

However if you levels are optimal you will experience more happiness and positivity🥳.

How does this relate to Nutrition???

Around 90 - 95% of Serotonin is produced in the Gut!!!

An Unhappy Gut = an Unhappy Mind😕.

Can you relate to this 🤷🏽‍♀️???

More to come on this, so check your feed for my posts 😁!!!

Who am I and what do I do🤷🏽‍♀️?!

A lot of you are personal friends 😍, some of you are acquaintances, and some of you are connections that I have made on here 😁.

I spend a lot of time sharing valuable info with you all, without really sharing my background and expertise with you🤷🏽‍♀️.

So...

After I left school I trained as Nurse as I have always loved anything medical, however it takes a very special person to deal with all of the stress and emotionally challenging situations. It wasn't for me, but it was a time when I got into training seriously and so I turned my passion into Health Promotion❤️.

I moved away and trained to be a Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist.
I started working in Gyms, but I was still hungry to learn more, so I went back to University and did a Degree in Sport and Exercise Science👩‍🎓.

I then set up my own Business doing PT, Sports Therapy and teaching classes. A few years later I once again got involved with the NHS and for over 10 years I worked alongside a team of Nurses delivering Cardiac Rehab classes. I was also delivering GP Referrals at various local leisure centres.

During this time I also started competing in Figure Competions and did this for 8 years, finally coming 8th at the World Championships before I retired💪🏼!

I massively expanded my knowledge of Nutrition during this time, and once again I became hungry to learn more, so I went back to University to do a Masters Degree in Nutritional Science.

I developed a real passion for Gut Health and focused on this when I wrote my Dissertation. Not to blow my own trumpet, but I did get an award for the best Academic Performance 😇!

So this and other achievements that I won't bore you with (I've been on Radio Newcastle twice 😁) have all lead me to where I am now!

I'm a Personal Trainer with a lot of knowledge and experience behind me, whether it's for Weight Loss, to get Fitter and Healthier, get into your Best Shape ever, or whether you have a Sports Performance Goal 🚴‍♂️🏋🏃‍♀️.

I'm a Nutritionist with a passion for Gut Health and how it affects Hormonal Balance, Autoimmune Conditions, Weight Loss, Digestive Issues and our Immune System to name a few!

So that's me 😃!!!

I'm working on lots of new projects and material to share with you, so I hope that you will watch this space, and my DMs are always open if you feel that I could help you in any way!

Delivering another successful talk at RAF Boulmer😁. Spent an hour and a half free wheeling without all the notes that I prepared 😅. I guess when you know your stuff it's just there 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Everything that you eat should promote a healthy psychological response not one of guilt😀!

Focus on giving your brain sweet, fatty and salty tastes from foods that nature created and not ones that you're emotionally attached to😋!

Go cold turkey and eliminate foods that you have NO BRAKES with one at a time, replacing them with suitable alternatives🦃.

This is not a race and change takes time, so always be kind to yourself and your body when you're making changes that will have a significant impact on your health and wellbeing🤗.
