The sun is setting noticeably earlier and we have a full moon on Saturday, so is staying open later, so that you can squeeze the last little be of light out of your summer’s day, swim in sit in and watch the moon rise 🌖

We have magical sunrises and sunsets. Being right on the shoreline, it is the perfect place to connect with nature. 🐬

In a few weeks’ time The May Isle will become a nursery for baby seals and you will be able sit in the sauna and watch seals in the waves. This summer, I have sat in the sauna, with guests and watch dolphins swim past and I love watching the wading birds, in the rock pools. 🦭

This lovely couple pictured outside represent a new wave of sauna enthusiasts. Inspired by sauna author ‘s latest book, Wild Saunas, a guide to outdoor saunas, in The UK, they are visiting saunas around Scotland.

Here they are outside which they were led to by its entry in the book.

Scottish Seaside Saunas, which includes and the most recently opened is organising a book festival on 17th October 2025. will be there, talking about her journey and giving us a snapshot of The UK & Ireland sauna movement, currently, along with who will put the current sauna movement in the context of a much more ancient practice of sweatbathing, in Ireland and Northern Europe. We will also have speakers and a few sauna practitioners, who will help us deliberate on the potential for sauna’s future, in The UK and Ireland and help us navigate a route to how we might get there.

There will be lots of fun, signed-copies of books on sauna and wild swimming available to purchase (perhaps as Christmas gifts), an on-site sauna and a weekend of sauna activities, including Sauna Astrology with and Sauna Rituals with and .a.c.dunlop and Fay from - more yet to be confirmed…

If you like swimming, chilling and having a sauna is for you. We do, indeed have an amazing view like and but a slightly different vibe….

is right next to recently listed by A Tidal Year author in as One of The 7 Best Places To Wild Swim in The UK.

We also have the lovely right next to us, with seats to chill and gaze at the view of The May aisle and, perhaps watch dolphins and seabirds. welcome.

There is also on site, long with the wood-fired pizza man and if you fancy something more substantial to eat after your swim and a sauna. ❤️‍🔥welcome.

Do you know that is also open week days, as well as weekends?

This photo was taken on the Friday evening, before The Summer Solstice. The area around the pool was buzzing with families picnicking and the wood-fired pizza man doing a roaring trade. Our last guests had just left at 8.00pm and the sun was still shining. So with this long light, you can spend your summer evenings swimming, sauna-ing and relaxing afterwards with a picnic, or a pizza.
