I had already intended to formally lauch my Shadow Work offering today.

But when I woke up this morning I felt out of sorts with tell-tale feelings of anxiety. I turned to my spirit guide for advice on how to fix it and he just raised his eyebrows at me and told me,

“You feel anxious? Good, that means you are alive, not numb. If you weren’t anxious, you’d be dead or bored, and you are neither. Anxiety is not a malfunction. It’s information. It’s the body’s way of saying, ‘Something matters here. Something is at risk. Something needs your attention.’ If you try to fix it, you deny its message. If you listen, you get the code, the boundary, the spark.”

And that is exactly what Shadow Work is! 🖤

These feelings that we are told we need to bury or fix – anger, jealousy, anxiety, desire, rage, grief and so forth – are not wrong! They do not need to be fixed; they need to be understood, heard and integrated.

Anger is your signal that something is not aligned with your core values or someone is disrespecting your boundaries. Jealousy often means you are afraid to lose something or someone you care deeply about. Anxiety tells you you are about to take a leap, push your own boundaries and manifest something real.

This work isn’t easy. These feelings aren’t comfortable.
But we’re not meant to be comfortable all the time. Comfort is the death of growth.

When I teach Shadow Work, I create a space for you to bring your whole self – including the messy parts, the parts that may feel unloveable or shameful. We don’t judge these parts and we don’t try to fix them. We witness, we listen and you take action accordingly.

This work is transformative, but not everyone is ready for this level of depth. This work is self-confrontational and it is only effective if you engage with it honestly. You will set the pace and decide which doors you are ready to open, but in order to get the desired results you will need to step into your discomfort and face your shadows head-on. Before stepping into this space with me, ask yourself honestly if you are ready to bring your darkest and most undesirable thoughts to the surface.

My spirit guide was right of course 😏It is kinda hilarious that I have been teaching people for years that their shadows don’t need fixing and yet here I was trying to fix my own.

But we are always good at sharing our wisdoms with others and often not so good at listening to our own great advice. That is real life. I will never pretend to be a healer who has “figured it all out”. I won’t ever meet you as a teacher preaching from a cloud of peace and tranquility - I am a peer who will meet you in the mud and chaos of reality. I know it is easy to chant “love and light” when you are in the space, and how easily we get knocked out of that wisdom again when we are running late and the person at the till in front of us decides to chat about the weather. What I offer isn’t a magic solution to elevate you out of reality, but the tools to root you deeper into it without losing your footing.

And so today I am listening to my anxiety and letting it remind me that this work that I do is something that matters deeply to me. I am allowing it to help me have these real conversations with you. That is the work 🔥

Don't let your own thoughts keep you inside a prison of your own making.

This is the 8 of Swords.
The illusion that we cannot get out of our situation because we cannot see (the blindfold) that nothing is actually holding back (the way out isn't blocked) but our own self limiting thoughts and feelings (the swords).

I'm sitting with this card today and the messages from my spirit guides, asking "what am I telling myself that is actually holding me back from claiming my full potential".

We are often our own hardest critic.
But also, the critique can become a safety blanket. The old chains can start to feel like comfort because they are familiar and we can blame them for why we are stuck, rather than unbind ourselves and risk being seen in our full, feral truth.

So today I'm setting myself the task to dismantle just one of my swords. To take away one excuse I've been telling myself and take a step out of that open cell.

What lie that you've been telling yourself will you dismantle today?
And what will you claim for yourself now that you know the door was actually left unlocked all along?

Remember the most magical spiritual thing you can do is live life to the full, dance like noone is watching, sing, laugh, do whatever your inner child would do if you no longer cared about what everyone else thinks of you 🫶🏻

I think most of us, if we’re honest, can’t remember when we stopped.

It happens gradually.
Life gets faster. Screens get louder. The to-do list gets longer.
And somewhere in the middle of all of it, the dancing stops.
The singing stops. The stories start to feel like a waste of time.

In shamanic traditions, these weren’t hobbies. They were how people stayed whole. How they stayed connected to themselves, to each other, to something larger.

The medicine person wasn’t asking a philosophical question.
They were doing a diagnostic.

They understood that when we lose our rhythm, our voice, our wonder, and our silence, we lose the thread back to ourselves.

Modern life has been very efficient at cutting that thread.

We move so fast we start outsourcing our inner lives to algorithms, our creativity to productivity, and our silence to noise.

We become strangers to ourselves without even noticing it happening.

These questions are an invitation to come back.

The universe is literally screaming this message at me over and over (I've already seen this same message 3 times today and I'm not even dressed yet 🤣) so I'm listening.

The challenges we experience in our life are a mirror, a lesson of what's going on inside.

This isn't some metaphor or magic, this is simply reality. It means that when we fail to set boundaries, we let people walk all over us. When we lack self confidence, people pick up on it and take advantage. When we lack self love, we push people away.

But the amazing thing is that it also works the other way! When you learn to love yourself, other people will be attracted to that energy. When we are confident in who we are, we see open doors that were previously hidden from us. When we are at peace with ourselves, nothing anyone else shouts can truly disturb that peace.

I'm not saying it's easy - it's not! I have suffered terrible imposter syndrome and anxiety all my life and it's not something that is easily "fixed". But the power to heal ourselves isn't in anyone else's hands, it is in our own. And even the realisation of that - that you already have the tools to make positive changes, even if the work is going to take time and effort - is powerful.

You don't need to become perfect.
You just need to become authentically you.

And yes, I know exactly what this means for me personally and so I have work to do today! 😏

This is an important community announcement 😉

I’m seeing a lot of talk in the spiritual community about needing to “raise your vibrations” as if that’s the ultimate goal or proof of spiritual attainment.

This narrative is toxic. And it actually has become a real barrier to true spiritual awakening for so many people.

You do NOT need to resolve, overcome or bury all of your shadows to become "enlightened". The point of spiritual awakening for most people isn't to become some perfectly peaceful monk. It is to become awake to - and live in balance with - all parts of yourself. Including the parts society tells you are too ugly, too raw, too unwanted.

But more than that, "low vibrations" aren't just the uncomfortable or less likable parts of us. They’re also what keep us grounded on Mother Earth. They are rest, renewal, reflection. The cycle of death and decay that lets something new bloom. They’re the boundaries that keep us from being trampled.

Aiming for a life devoid of "low vibrations" is like asking for the day without the peaceful rest of the night, an endless summer without the renewal of winter. It’s not just unrealistic, it’s unhealthy and unnatural.

Our aim shouldn’t be to strip out the low, but to understand its value and integrate it. Fear isn’t always bad; it keeps us from recklessness. Anger isn’t always wrong; it’s the voice of our moral compass, our righteous disapproval of what’s unjust.

I specifically created The Forge in response to this unhelpful sanitisation of spiritual work.

I will never ask you to “raise your vibrations.”
Instead, I will teach you to hear the full symphony of your own song - from the lowest bass note to your highest C. Your melody isn’t complete without the full range. You don’t need to erase the low notes; you just need to learn how all your notes can work in harmony 🎶🎵.

Be a symphony. Be a riot!
The world needs your full spectrum, and you are already enough, exactly as you are. 🫶🏻

A huge thank you to those who came to my face to face Meet your Guardians workshop last week ❤️

It was my absolute honour to witness your journey deep into your subsconscious self and hear about your encounters with your inner guardians.

Inner guardians are forces that have been created by our own subconscious mind in response to traumatic events in our life. Unlike external guardians, such as ancestral and spirit guides, which are independent sovereign entities from ourselves who often provide guidance and insight, our internal guardians are not separate from us, they are *part* of us. They are not gentle, they are primal. They are our responses to external threats causing our fight, flight or fawn reactions.

Often these forces have stayed or become disconnected with us, some growing into disproportionate sizes and others having shrunk into the shadows of our mind. They can manifest as seemingly disproportionate reactions to a current situation, causing you to instinctively lash out or retreat.

By using the power of meditation and visualisation we can give these guardians a voice, allowing you to see their form, understand how they first arose and what purpose they serve now. They don't exist to harm you, but to serve and protect you. We will work together to reintegrate them, giving you back your sovereign power and allowing you to draw on their power when you need them rather than be ruled by them.

I have just completed my two day Silent Counselling Practitioner training with the amazing teacher Karen Redpath. I feel so deeply empowered and have learnt just as much for myself and my own growth during that training as I am looking forward to sharing with others.

Silent Counselling is one of the most powerful modalities I have learnt, tapping into the innate powers of our own body and subconsciousness to allow healing at a deep somatic level. It is called Silent Counselling because you are are not required to consciously retell past traumas and fears - instead we focus on the body's subconscious negative responses to trauma and begin to reprogramme our internal operating system with positive and empowering responses instead.

Did you know that our conscious brain represents only 5% of our total operating system? Modern talking therapy can be incredibly powerful and serve effectively to work with this 5% layer. But it often fails to address the deeper subconscious trauma held in the other 95% part of our body. This is where Silent Counselling comes in, helping you to reconnect your body and your mind.
