I'm deeply saddened by the death of one of my long-term legends. He will always be remembered and I was honoured to be a part of his life as one of the family. As a carer you never get used to saying goodbye but it is always worth the pain and another family needing a compassionate/loving carer is never far away. I actually almost quit, but a voice inside me keeps saying that there's another family that I can bless with my caring nature, sense of humour and desire to make our local community a better place.

Are you an Eric Pollard or know someone who is?
I'm thrilled to see Emmerdale air real life stories now that many of us can relate to. Sadly I have seen many Eric Pollards and the sad reality is that those who don't accept help will end up in hospital (Kerry made that clear) and then a home as they try to manage at home without support and are then found on the floor with a fractured pelvis.
There is hope though....as I have been to the Eric Pollards who eventually do accept help and after two weeks at the most, these people actually LOVE CARERS! I have seen these miracles happen and they don't know why they tried to cope for so long. I understand and it must be devastating being so independent all your life, to then all of a sudden be hit with old age but this is just another chapter of life - one of the best chapters - the Golden years. Your hard work is done and now it's your turn to be treated like the king/queen of the family as you've always cared for everyone else.
If you have anyone needing care, give me two weeks and I can become the family member they didn't know they needed.

The Elderly LOVE this! SMILES guaranteed. Hey all this year we are open again for virtual visits from Santa to the elderly. He prepares a personal message and sings any Christmas favourite to the elderly. Sometimes from the help of his Elf. Santa also loves to sing Hymns.
