So this happened! 😅

We were a finalist at the Energy & Utility Skills Awards this week for Training Provision of the Year (Micro/Small Training Organisations) within our 1st year of trading 🥹

A huge thanks to Energy & Utility Skills for a great evening and for opening a category to recognise the small but mighty training providers out there doing their bit to raise and drive standards and keep people safe! 💪🏼

We didn’t win this time (well done to Hills Safety and Training Services Limited 👏), but just being in a category alongside some incredible providers felt like a win in itself!

Everyone at Hybrid Safety Training should be so proud of themselves. We all share the same ethics and values within the industry and care about making a positive change.

We may be a small team, but that night demonstrates the impact we are making 💪

This week, a team of 8 from MW Benney Ltd completed the PASMA Towers for Users course. 🚧

This course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely:

✅ Assemble, alter, and dismantle mobile access towers
✅ Carry out pre-use inspections and identify hazards
✅ Understand relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices for working at height
✅ Use the correct tools, PPE, and safety measures to reduce risk on site

The PASMA course is also a fantastic way to develop teamwork and communication, as safe tower assembly relies on everyone working together efficiently and accurately.

Well done to everyone involved for working together and showing real dedication to safety and best practice. 💪

And, to top it off, the sun was shining! We’re holding onto summer for dear life ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who took time out of their day to join Angus and us for our Open Day with CITB.

It was an informative morning filled with great conversations, discussions around the upcoming CITB changes, and a chance to do a bit of networking too ✅

We also had a delivery of some lovely homemade cupcakes by Sandra Reynolds, always a win! 🍰

A post from Abbie Rowe, Director of HST on becoming a finalist for the Energy & Utility Skills Training Provision of the Year Award – for Micro/Small training organisations (2-50 employees)!

OH MY GOD!!!! 🫨

What an honour to even be considered for the award!

Not because I doubt HST's ethos or mission, but to be recognised by one of our awarding bodies like this - ahhh! 😍

HST had a candidate last week who attended an instructor course, and part of his feedback was:

"This is the first time in my career of sitting in a training company's facilities I felt that the main and only objective was to get the candidate to effectively fulfil and achieve their goals, not a commercial product. (only after the funds)."

And this is EXACTLY it!

We are not a tick-box service; we go beyond the basics and quality over quantity, always 💪

All of us at HST are so passionate about the quality of training and service we deliver, every time. And we want to, and we will, have an impact and be part of the movement to make the industries a safer place for everyone to work.

A massive well done to Neil and Craig for passing the NPORS T001 Instructor course today! 🎉

It's been an intense 5 days of preparation, practice, and perseverance 🫡

From early mornings to late nights, they've put in the work to not only meet the standard but to exceed it!

The start of a new chapter, where they'll share their knowledge, train others, and uphold the standards of NPORS ✅

A big shout-out to Dan, HST's instructor, for guiding them through every step and preparing them to cross that finish line confidently!

Quick turnaround without compromising quality 🚧

Last Friday, we tested the NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper category at our South West training centre for the guys at K & J Hodge Contractors Ltd. and Churngold Construction Ltd.

They called us on Wednesday, we had it booked, delivered, and wrapped up by Friday ✅

No fuss, just solid, compliant testing.

The lads got stuck in and did a great job, credit where it's due 🫡

It's always a pleasure to work with companies that prioritise training and site safety!

We’re now taking bookings for the NPORS T001 Instructor Course – the perfect next step for experienced operators looking to train and assess others!

🎯 We don’t do tick-box training. We deliver quality.

Become a confident, competent NPORS-accredited instructor with a course that goes beyond the basics.

📅 Course Dates:

🔹 10-Day Novice Instructor Course – Starts 4th August 2025
🔹 5-Day Experienced Instructor Course – Starts 11th August 2025

🎓 Eligible for the 5-Day Course?

You can attend the shorter 5-day experienced course if you already hold an instructional techniques qualification, such as:

• RTITB, AITT, ITSSAR, IPAF, ALLMI, Lantra
• MOD Instructional Qualifications
• Cert Ed, PTLLS, CTLLS, DILLS
• Level 3–5 Education & Training Qualifications

📝 Please note: Before attending, you must complete an NPORS Instructor Application Form with supporting documents like your up-to-date CV and copies of your accredited operator certificates—we can help with this process.

✅ Health & Safety Qualification Required

While a recognised H&S qualification is recommended for all instructors, it is mandatory for those delivering safety-critical categories (e.g. confined spaces, crane ops, construction-related).

Accepted qualifications include:
• NPORS Construction Site Safety Manager
• NEBOSH (General or Construction Certificate)
• CITB SMSTS / Managing & Coordinating Plant
• IOSH Managing Safely**
• NEBOSH Award in H&S**
• NVQ/SVQ Level 3+ in H&S
