🇬🇧 Delyth's partner Macauley was killed in an accident at work. Macauley was already on the organ donation register, which made the family's decision much easier.

Their decision to fulfil Macauley's wishes meant that his organs went on to save four lives.

“I'm extremely proud of him... just massive, massive pride," said Delyth.

"He’d actually signed it twice over the years, which made our decision a little bit easier.

"It was a bit of a surprise because writing and computers weren’t his strong point.

"For him to have been able to find the register and sign it, just shows how easy it is. I’m glad he did it."

Delyth and rest of Macauley’s family were full of nothing but praise for the Specialist Nurses who took care of them following their decision to donate his organs. In fact, its now a career that Delyth’s teenage daughter is hoping to pursue.

Confirming your decision on the NHS Organ Donor Register like Macauley did, takes just 2 minutes and you could end up saving many more lives.

“Rwy’n hynod falch ohono... dim ond balchder enfawr, enfawr,” meddai Delyth.

"Roedd wedi'i llofnodi ddwywaith dros y blynyddoedd, felly roedd ein penderfyniad ychydig yn haws.

"Tipyn o syndod oedd hyn oherwydd nid ysgrifennu a chyfrifiaduron oedd ei gryfderau.
"Mae’r ffaith ei fod wedi gallu dod o hyd i'r gofrestr a'i llofnodi yn dangos pa mor hawdd yw gwneud. Rwy'n falch ei fod wedi gwneud."

Roedd Delyth a gweddill teulu Macauley yn llawn canmoliaeth i’r Nyrsys Arbenigol a fu’n gofalu amdanynt yn dilyn eu penderfyniad i roi ei organau. Yn wir, mae merch Delyth, sydd yn ei harddegau, yn gobeithio dilyn hyn fel gyrfa.

Dau funud yn unig y mae’n ei gymryd i gadarnhau eich penderfyniad ar Gofrestr Rhoddwyr Organau’r GIG fel y gwnaeth Macauley, a gallech chi achub llawer mwy o fywydau.

“This research could transform what the future looks like for people like me, offering the possibility of less pain, better treatments, and more precious time with our loved ones.”

We’ve joined forces with Prostate Cancer Research to fund six ground-breaking new research projects.

Together, we’ll tackle the spread of breast and prostate cancer to the bones to improve the lives of people living with breast cancer
That’s people like Nicola, 52, from Warrington, a former neonatal intensive care nurse.

Nicola was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in the bone in 2021 – a diagnosis that she says turned her life upside down.

“A diagnosis of bone metastasis is life-changing and affects every part of your life, from living with constant pain to worrying about fractures and what the future holds. I had to give up a job I loved, as my mobility and energy have been severely affected.

“Knowing that leading charities are coming together to fund research specifically focused on stopping cancer spread to the bones gives me real hope.”
