Access Your Life Sharing advice, reviews and experiences to help people with disabilities buy the equipment they need!

Following life long battles with different disabilities, both my partner and I were determined to alleviate some of the struggles associated with having a medical condition. Fast forward to 2021 and AYL’s online review forms, communal blog and preloved equipment scheme are helping patients, carers and healthcare professionals around the world.

We are excited to announce that the first instalment in our series of accessible Disney travel tips is now live!

In this blog, we share everything we, along with Inkfire, Mali and Me, and Chronically Jenni, did to prepare for our recent trip to Disneyland Paris. We cover topics such as planning, packing, managing medical equipment, and tackling the one task that anyone with a medical condition dreads…securing insurance.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Be sure to check out the link below to learn more!👩🏻‍🦽🏰🦮

WE DID IT! 🏅

Not only did we cross the Great North Run finish line, but we also reached our fundraising goal!

Although we are both still very exhausted from the race, we wanted to thank everyone who donated to or shared our fundraising page. Every contribution truly makes a difference and allows Canine Partners to continue their life-changing work by providing assistance dogs, like Fliss, to people with disabilities, like Lauren.

Stay tuned for some video insights into how Felix pushed me in my wheelchair, along with all my necessary medical equipment for 13.1 miles! 🦮👩🏻‍🦽🏃🏻

Over the years, we have continually received numerous horror stories from our users about their experiences with NHS wheelchair services, including the AYL team. So we highly recommend that our pediatric users and/or their families share their experiences with Whizz Kidz! ♿️

The Whizz Kidz Youth Board are conducting research into the suitability of the equipment provided to young wheelchair users by NHS Wheelchair Services.

To understand what works well and what may need improving, young wheelchair users and their parents/guardians are invited to complete the survey to share experiences of accessing NHS Wheelchair Services and about the equipment offered or provided 👇

Your input will be used to support the Youth Board’s campaign to bring about change to NHS Wheelchair Services.

🚨 Research Opportunity 🚨

Do you use a powered wheelchair with a narrow base, such as a Q300 or Stretto, that was chosen for a specific access need?

For example, does having a smaller turning circle allow you to maneuver within tight spaces in your home? Is your work or educational setting inaccessible without this wheelchair?

If so, we would love to hear from you! Please share your experiences along with any suggestions for improvements you would like to see in the wheelchair. You can submit your feedback in written or video format via email contact@accessyourlife.co.uk by 8:00pm BST on Monday, September 8th, 2025.

The most informative responses will have a chance to win a £50 Amazon voucher. 🥳

Fliss has been hard at working keeping up with all your phone calls since our new website has launched. We've been getting some great feedback about what's working and what you'd like to see next, do keep it coming!

Call us crazy, but we are once again participating in the Great North Run to raise funds for Canine Partners!

Fliss has been a lifeline for both Felix and me, enabling us to start our own company in 2018. Since then, we have helped hundreds of people access the right mobility equipment. So we want to keep giving back once more to the charity that made this possible until we raise enough!

If you could donate or share our fundraising page linked below, it would mean so much to us! 🦮👩🏻‍🦽🏃🏻

A Trusted Source Of Information For People Living With Disabilities!

Access Your Life encourages people to share their experiences to help those living in similar situations! Originally this was in the form of a wheelchair review, but we have recently expanded our directory to accommodate other forms of medical equipment reviews, such as mobility scooters and wheelchair accessible vehicles! All of which prevents others from making life-altering decisions, based on a sales pitch from a supplier, or unrelated online sources.

Following the success of this system, we created an equipment rehoming scheme, allowing people living with disabilities and their carers to list their unwanted devices for sale and receive help finding suitable buyers!

Follow our page for regular updates, trusted resources and discount codes! Alternatively, you can get in touch with the AYL team for more information, advice or support!
