You’ve been lied to about steps.
The 10,000 step rule didn’t come from science, it came from a 1960s marketing campaign for a pedometer.
And somewhere along the way, we turned it into a measure of “success” or “failure.”
Here’s the truth:
✅ You don’t need 10,000 steps to be healthy
✅ Huge benefits start around 6,000 steps
✅ ANY increase in movement matters
✅ Real health isn’t one number, it’s daily habits, strength, mobility, how you feel
So if 10,000 steps stresses you out?
You’re not the problem, the target is.
This week, aim for more than you’re doing now - not perfection.
2k to 4k is progress.
4k to 6k is progress.
Progress without pressure.
Movement without guilt.
Health without rules.
