Every Birth Doula Support

I am a relaxed mum of 5 who feels passionate about new life and mothering. I love assisting women and families around birth, bringing practical support, encouragement, and promoting confidence. Having had personal experience of both hospital and home births, I feel I am able to support mothers in whichever environment they choose. I endeavor to doula in a releasing and empowering way that facilita

tes bonding between mother and baby. Whilst this often involves practical help I also offer emotional support, and am a good listener. As a recognised birth and post natal doula I have attended both hospital and home births. Since training in 2007 I have been privileged to provide support for over 60 families. As a member of DoulaUK I abide by their philosophy and code of practice. I am a mentor for their newly trained doulas and volunteer as joint Doula Mentor Co-ordinator. I am also a member of Nurturing Birth. I have completed their advanced breastfeeding course and ‘KEE to birth’ which is a birth preparation course, covering Knowledge, Emotions and Expectations. I have completed an accupressure course, a birth crisis workshop with Shelia Kitzinger, a workshop on malpositioning and Robozo. Having delivered four healthy babies (3 girls and 1 boy) my fifth baby died when I was 20 weeks pregnant. This experience of miscarriage deeply affected me and has given me an empathy for others who find themselves loosing their baby. I am a volunteer for Miscarriage Association and run the Manchester support group. I have completed the Child Bereavement Charity course ‘Supporting Parents Through Pregnancy Loss and Death of a Baby’. I am available as a Doula for those having to go through the distress of miscarriage or stillbirth. I also run workshops for Doula's in how to support clients through baby loss.
