Why I chose to train with the IAIM 💚
When I decided to become a certified baby massage instructor, I knew I wanted to learn from the very best—and that’s exactly what the IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage) offers.
The IAIM is the world-class standard for teaching infant massage. It’s not a mix of baby classes or sensory play—it’s a calm, nurturing space where parents are invited to slow down, bond with their baby, and learn a skill that can become a treasured family tradition.
🌿 Founded in the 1970s by Vimala McClure—who was inspired by her time volunteering at an orphanage in India—the IAIM combines age-old traditions of infant massage with elements of Swedish massage, reflexology, yoga, and developmental knowledge.
Vimala’s vision? That every baby in the world receives nurturing touch. Today, her work is taught in over 70 countries worldwide, bringing connection and calm to thousands of families.
I love how respectful the IAIM approach is—it’s about more than just massage strokes. It’s about tuning into your baby’s cues, understanding behavioural states, and building real, loving communication from the very start.
Our programme is research-based, gentle, and designed with both parents and babies in mind. You’ll learn:
1. 👐 Massage strokes for each part of the body
2. 💨 A soothing colic & wind routine
3. 🌈 Gentle movements and touch relaxation
4. 🕰️ How to choose the best time for massage
5. 🧴 Safe oils to use
6. 👶 How to adapt massage as your baby grows
I used these techniques with my own baby, and it truly became a moment of bliss in our day—calm, connected, and full of love. I’m so proud to bring this beautiful programme to Ashton-under-Lyne through Bub & Bliss. 💚
