🌙 I feel sad that there are so many mamas (and papas) who feel worried, anxious or nervous about attending baby groups. It breaks my heart that so many women feel alone, or trapped within their four walls.

I completely understand how overwhelming it might feel to be an anxious first time mum (& dad), always wondering if the baby will cry or need a feed, how to negotiate caring for your little one whilst trying to make small talk or hold a conversation with people you might never have met before!

One of the first classes I ever took Eden (my first baby) to was baby massage. I liked how calm and serene the classes were. In my group there was only me and another mama (we are still good friends and it’s been amazing watching our babies grow together). We were both able to sit and feed our babies together (I breastfed, she bottle fed her baby), zero judgment or fears about others opinions. It was our safe space, it was calm, quiet and heavenly.

I want to hold a safe space for you to bond and nurture your baby. To meet other mamas or come along and be quiet if that is more your jam. There is no “right” way to be in my groups, they can be as intimate (1-2-1) or as friendly (groups of 5-6 people) as you like.

I am looking forward to starting my first class soon! Watch this space!

🌙 “You are my reason.

You are the reason I get up each morning.
Even though my eyelids are as heavy as a five-ton truck.
Even though all I want is a sleep in, a coffee and breakfast in bed.
You are more important.
You need me.
For you, I would do anything.

You are the reason I am finally comfortable in my own skin.
Even though I am a size bigger than I used to be.
Even though my b***s cannot be described as 'perky'
You relied on my body.
You gave it purpose.
For you, I will always love it.

You are the reason I am no longer selfish.
Even though I sometimes complain that I don’t buy anything for myself anymore.
Even though I get annoyed when I don’t get enough alone time.
You have taught me that there is more to life than just me.
Your needs come first right now.
For you, I happily come second.

You are the reason I now know the importance of patience.
Even though I sometimes miss the fast-paced life.
Even though I still get frustrated when I feel inefficient.
You need me to go at your pace.
You are the priority right now.
For you, I slow down.

You are the reason that I now have perspective.
Even though I don’t make the money that I used to.
Even though I don’t have the level of mental stimulation I once had.
You are more important.
You need me.
For you, my career can wait.

You are the reason I worry more than ever.
Even though I know it won’t change anything.
Even though it’s not your fault.
You are precious.
You are vulnerable.
For you, I will worry forever.

You are the reason I am now filled with gratitude.
Even though I get sad when things do not go my way.
Even though I sometimes lose sight of what I have.
You are my constant reminder that I am blessed.
You are the light at the end of every tunnel.
For you, everything is worth it.

You are the reason that my heart is full.
Even though I love your dad more than you can ever imagine.
Even though I am grateful for our life before you.
You have shown me a love like no other.
You are remarkable.
For you, my heart explodes.

You are my reason." Written by Emma Heaphy of

❤️🧠Just in time for for Valentine’s Day!

Hugs really do help with your little cubs development. Hugging stimulates the brain and even as adults we feel a sense of care, love, and attachment and a special bonding when we hug. All of these positive stimulants boost physical, psychological and cognitive development. 🧠 .

👣 MAMA & CUB offers a safe space for you and your baby. A place to nurture and bond with your little one through gentle baby massage and baby yoga classes.

My classes are calm and non-judgemental, perfect for anyone who might be anxious about attending group events or slightly nervous when it comes to busier or louder classes. The groups will vary in size but will typically involve anything from an intimate 2-3 or 7-8 Mamas (or Papas) & their Cub.

Mama & Cub is all about mothers and their babies/children. I am a Mama myself and know how hard it can be to get time for yourself. Baby Massage classes and Baby Yoga are amazing for Mama & Cub bonding but a BIG part of what I can offer is Massage.

As a qualified Sports Massage and Pregnancy Massage Therapist I can offer a range of treatments that are tailored to each Mamas individual needs. With a full postural assessment, deep tissue therapy and maintenance massage offered- I can adapt the treatment to suit your individuals needs.

So, this is what Mama & Cub can offer in my fully insured private clinic (based in Shropham near Snetterton / A11)

🌿OXYTOCIN ~ is a powerful hormone that acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain. It is nicknamed the “love hormone” due to the fact when humans hug or kiss a loved one, oxytocin levels increase!

Oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain. Females usually have higher levels than males - possibly because Oxytocin is required during and after birth. It really is a magical hormone that is shared between a mother and her baby during breastfeeding to stimulate milk production (those clever little babies!) ✨

How does it work during baby massage?

The mother and baby relationship is fueled by oxytocin. After birth oxytocin surges allowing mum and baby to bond by imprinting on each other’s smell. Massage helps your baby to release the hormone oxytocin leaving your baby calm and relaxed. You will also benefit from a release of oxytocin during the massage – as skin to skin creates a feeling of love, bonding, and a deep connection with your little cub. 🌿🌓👣✨🖤.

👣Babies are truly amazing little miracles. They are non-judgmental and open minded. Unlike adults, babies are open to learning about love (and how to give and receive love). This means parents can help shape how their little babies brain develops and how they perceive the world around them.

To help support a baby’s emotional development is vital to help create a confident and secure little baby, safe in the knowledge that they are loved. The easiest way to show love to your baby is through nurturing touch and skin to skin. This helps to soothe and reassure your baby and show him/her that you love them.
When a baby understands he is loved and secure, they grow in confidence and thrive. 🌿👣✨🖤💫🌓 .

💫🌗🌙✨⁣⁣I don’t think I have the words to convey how truly magical the female body is. To create a little life, to nourish and carry this whole new person.. it is beyond scientific explanation- it really is a miracle indeed!

When you give birth to your little miracle, you too are born again. You are born again as a mother... one of the most rewarding, beautiful roles you will ever play.. but one of the most challenging and toughest jobs at times too!

If you are an athlete with an injury you might rest or take time off your sport to recover. As a mama, there is no “day off”.. no time to rest or simply “stop being a mama.” You can’t stop carrying a baby inside you, once born you can’t just rest when they have so many little needs such as being held, fed and rocked. Sometimes the nights feel so long as you sit up, your back aching from holding the baby to feed them, the muscles in your neck tense.

Massage can be SO beneficial for both expectant and postnatal mamas (whatever your stage of motherhood!). Carrying toddlers and older children isn’t without those aches and pains too!

Keep an eye on my page for more information on when you can book in for a massage! Feel free to DM if you’re looking for a massage sooner than my official opening date!🌓🖤👣🌿 .

How does baby massage help with brain development?

Touch has been called the “mother of all senses.” And for good reason: “It’s the first sense to develop while babies are still in the womb,” massage causes a boost in brain activity in the thalamus and sensory cortex.

Everyone loves a good cuddle, but routine positive massage can provide comfort and reassurance that helps your child feel safe, builds trust and fosters bonding.

Touch stimulates the other senses, speeding myelination of the brain and nervous system, and promoting language development. Baby massage also increases oxygen and nutrient flow to cells, increasing your baby's ability to learn. Just a few of the reasons to consider learning baby massage in one of my supportive, safe and relaxing mama and Cub sessions 🖤🌿✨

At the very heart of ‘Mama & Cub’ is a focus on well-being and positive mental health. Put simply - I want to create a supportive space where Mamas (and their cubs) feel connected, nurtured, relaxed and happy. 💫
▪️Mama Massage: as a Mother I know how selfless we become the moment our tiny babies are born. Taking 5 minutes for self-care can feel “selfish” and mom-guilt creeps in (trust me I know about this). BUT we can’t pour from an empty cup.. allowing yourself 30’mins or an hour to relieve all that tension, aches or pains - I promise you will feel the benefits.
▪️Pregnancy Massage: for deep relaxation and to reduce stress. Relieve muscular tension which is caused by hormonal/postural changes that occur during pregnancy. It’s also a space to explore your feelings and connection with your baby.
▪️Baby Massage: Baby massage can be a wonderful experience for both you and your baby. It is a chance for just the two of you to have a quiet, bonding moment.
Massaging your baby is a great way to show your baby they are loved and help them to feel relaxed. It can also encourage them to sleep and soothe your baby if they are suffering from colic.
▪️Baby Yoga: Simply put, Baby Yoga mixes physical touch and emotional connection with movement - creating a sense of security and wellbeing. A special time for mums and babies to enjoy together.

Meet the team at ‘Mama & Cub’⚡.....⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ok, so it is just me! 👋🏼 Hi I’m Cristi > Mother, Human, Massage Therapist, lover of all things nature, outdoors, movement and yoga! I’m a mama of two incredible children - they are my world and the reason I have created ‘Mama&Cub”
⚡️
Mama&Cub has been in the pipeline for just over 2 years! In 2017 I trained as a Sports Massage Therapist and gained my Level3 qualification whilst on maternity leave with my first baby. I have always been heavily involved with sport (playing/coaching/competing), so it felt natural to study sports therapy with my keen passion for all things movement. After qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist I went on to complete training in Pregnancy Massage (as I had found it so beneficial when I was pregnant for the first time). I also had a new found respect for the female body, a purely magical and miraculous wonder that could create, nurture and carry a tiny human- all whilst stretching, growing and adapting to accommodate a new life!
⚡️
Then..
well..
life got busy and I fell pregnant with my second baby (who was born a few weeks ago)! During both pregnancies I suffered with aches and pains as my body developed, nourished and grew a tiny human. (I’m still in awe of the female body and how magical pregnancy and birth can be ✨). Massage was simply magic 🙏🏻
⚡️
My life completely changed the day I became a mum. Pregnancy & postpartum healing is one wild ride! Now everything I do is for my children and family and to support other mamas and families along the way.
⚡️
It is my dream to own parent and baby wellbeing practice, offering pregnancy, postnatal and remedial massage to mamas, teaching baby massage and yoga to parents and their babies.
⚡️
Baby massage & yoga are an incredibly powerful way to build secure attachment between parents and babies which is the foundation of infant and adult mental health. Having had my own babies I know how important mama and baby mental health is, including pregnancy and postpartum recovery - and this is why Mama&Cub was created.✨⚡️🙏🏻
