🎉We now have a mobile hoist 🎉

Thanks to funding, we’ve been able to order a mobile hoist to help make our in-house activities even more accessible for children and young people with complex needs. ♿

“But why does this matter?” you might ask.

Because for some families, accessibility isn’t just about getting through the door. It’s about whether their child can safely join in at all.

Without equipment like this, many of our children can unintentionally be excluded from activities most people take for granted, messy play, sensory sessions, storytelling, craft activities, or simply spending time with friends in a safe and comfortable way.

A mobile hoist means:
🩷 Safer transfers
💙 Greater dignity and comfort
💚 More inclusion in activities
💜 Less physical strain on parent carers
❤️ More opportunities for children with physical disabilities and PMLD to fully participate

This isn’t “extra.” This is necessary. Every piece of accessible equipment helps remove another barrier and sends a message to families that their children belong here too. 🌈

We can’t wait to continue creating spaces where more children can take part, feel included, and make magical memories together. ✨

☀️Save the Dates! 😎

We’ve had so many people asking about the summer holidays and what we’ve got planned, so we thought it was time to share a Save the Dates for some of our bigger events.

Thanks to funding, we’re really pleased to say that all of our events will be £6 or less across the 6-week holidays. We know how tough (and expensive) the holidays can be, so we hope this helps make things a little more accessible for our families ☺️

Here’s some of the things that we’ve got coming up:

26th July
Flamingo Land (with coach travel)

1st August
Accessible Surfing at South Shields

3rd August
Private Train Ride with Weardale Railway (Bishop to Stanhope), including a picnic and summer games before returning

4th August
Seaton Carew Beach Day, including a beach hut with cakes and refreshments, plus wheelchair accessible beach buggies

9th August
Teesside Riverboat Cruise (Stockton to Preston Park), with time at the park and an onboard disco on the return

15th August
Gulliver’s World (with coach travel)

23rd August
Wet Wheels in Whitby
