The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has announced that the NHS prescription charge (government tax) will be kept at £9.90 per prescription item for 2025/26.

The prescription prepayment certificate (PPC) will also remain unchanged and could save you money on NHS prescription costs:

- A 3-month PPC costs £32.05
- A 12-month PPC is £114.50

📢 Prescription charges frozen for the first time in three years

This will put money back into the pockets of millions of patients, as part of our Plan for Change.

The freeze covers the cost of:

✅ single prescription charges
✅ 3 and 12-month Prescription Prepayment Certificates
✅ HRT Prescription Prepayment Certificates

Nothing will change for people who are exempt from paying for prescriptions.
