Here at Creggan Bahn, we spent a full week celebrating Ruby’s 100th birthday. On Tuesday she had a very special party in the golden room. The room was well decorated and our talented kitchen staff provided a very special and elegant birthday cake. This amazing lady was treated like royally and was proud to show off her telegram from the king. She also received a lovely family canvas and a personalised framed newsletter from 1925. Ruby had a fantastic time with friends, family, and people living with us.

On Thursday she then enjoyed going on the tri bikes, whereby she proudly displayed her 100th balloons for all to see while enjoying More...Fresh Air.

On Friday we finished off the week by inviting Ricky Devine to perform. Ricky sang some Irish songs personally selected by Ruby, we all enjoyed singing and dancing along with Ruby on her special week. Ricky finished off his performance by singing happy birthday
to an amazing and special lady. Ruby had a magical week and looks amazing for 100.

On the 20th June, we held our Annual Garden Party here at Creegan Bahn Court. The weather was on our side as the sun was shining. Our theme this year was Victory in Europe, focusing on 40's and 50's music and games.

We started our day by enjoying some outdoor games and More...Fresh Air (including pick up sticks and marble games), followed by a delicious BBQ. Queen Margaret Academy then joined us and sang some lovely old-time war songs; it was an emotional and magical moment for all.

We then all enjoyed taking part in the raffle and were able to raise a fantastic amount (1003.53) for Whiteley's retreat.

We then finished off the day by enjoying a sing along by Tartan Tenor. It was a fantastic day enjoyed by many. We would like to thank everyone that donated towards the raffle and the charity, it was much appreciated. We look forward to presenting Whiteleys with their well-deserved cheque.

Thanks again to everyone for coming along and joining in the summer fun!

A huge thanks to The Coo Shed for their kind donations to our garden project. Katie, the wife of one of the people living with us, Euan, was visiting The Coo Shed and mentioned that she was buying plants for our project. Sandra (pictured) very kindly (and completely unprompted) said she would donate some plants. She disappeared and came back with a trolley full!

Her sister Alison owns the business, and they were both delighted to let us have these amazing begonias, petunias, and lobelia. Those living with us will enjoy getting More...Fresh Air out in our garden, whilst looking at all of our beautiful new plants. Thanks again.

On Friday, the people living with us enjoyed a cocktail party at Templeton House. We all enjoyed some delicious cocktails, and enjoyed some lovely dancing and singing. It was a day full of smiles, laughter and More...Socialising.

We then enjoyed a beautiful walk back home for More...Fresh Air. It was a fantastic afternoon enjoyed by many.

On May 8th, we celebrated VE Day 80th Anniversary in the home, this was to commemorate the end of WW2.

In the morning, our residents watched the memorial service on the TV. The 2-minute silence was given by the residents along with staff to remember all the men and women who had lost their own lives in the war, a truly poignant moment.

We then had a street party theme in the dining areas, an amazing buffet provided by our hard-working hospitality team. In the afternoon, we had Pauline playing the harp with some Vera Lynn songs along with some Scottish song and dance.

A day of emotions and laughter.
