'✨ Supporting Birth with the CUB ✨
This week we had a wonderful example of how positioning can make all the difference in labour.
Our client had an epidural in place and her baby was in a persistent direct occiput posterior (OP) position. Towards the final stages, there was a possibility that a caesarean birth was on the cards.
With the support of the CUB in a kneeling/ proposal position, we encouraged some upright mobility and fetal alignment.
This simple adjustment helped to facilitate her baby’s internal rotation, aid descent and she went on to achieve a successful normal vaginal birth ✨
What stood out most was the whole collaboration:
💜 Our supportive physicians
💜 Our skilled and attentive LDR team of midwives and obstetric nurses
💜 Family members who were fully engaged in the process
It was a true multidisciplinary team effort, centred on our client’s needs, and a great reminder that small changes in approach can lead to safe and positive outcomes.
