Monday 16th March you can join us for a 20 minute appointment at That Baby Place.

Sometimes you just need a check in, a bit of a steer and maybe a weight?

If that sounds like you, then our 20 minute feeding MOT appointments can:

- Look at feeding videos

- ⁠Talk through concerns

- ⁠Help you understand signs that your baby is ‘getting enough’

- ⁠Steer you in the direction of more help if you need it.

Note: If feeding is complicated, then 20 mins won’t be enough time and we really recommend getting a full feeding assessment with us or your local free services.

This slot may be with Lucy Webber or Josie Routley, or sometimes both! £20

Looking forward to this!
Next Tuesday morning we're going to be getting out our selection of pumps for you to come and play with.

Press the buttons, take them apart and put them together, listen to the different noises, feel the weight of them...

Josie and Lucy will both be there to answer any questions you might have about pumps and expressing.

No cost, no need to book. Just turn up when it suits between 10 and 12.

As always, we'll have the kettle on x

We're excited to announce our first 'book club' evening on the Tues 3rd March at 7pm

This is for anyone who is a breastfeeding supporter, health professional, or breastfeeding supernerd in any way!

Each session we'll dive into a book, research paper, or journal article to get the brains whiring.

We'll chat it through over hot and soft drinks and nibbles, and you're welcome whether you've managed to read it beforehand or not. There won't be a quiz!

The aim is a meeting of like minded people, getting together to explore things, maybe learn a bit, and get a bit of head space with others who 'get it'

The first session we'll be looking at:
Evaluation of the Experiences of Mothers using Silver Ni**le Cups, 2024, Karabayir et al

Come along for a cuppa, a natter, and a refresh. See you there?!

Hi I'm Lucy, I'm a midwife and lactation consultant.

I've had three babies of my own, and had personal experience of different feeding methods and problems, sleep challenges, birth trauma, and postnatal mental illness.

I love working with all areas of infant feeding, from pregnancy to toddlers and beyond, from the straightforward reassurance consultations and basics of how to latch a newborn, to the complex and longer term challenges.

I've also authored a book (breastfeeding and the fourth trimester) and enjoy speaking and educating at study days and conferences. I share as much helpful info as I can on my social media Lucy Webber Feeding Support - IBCLC

I live at home with two of my three kids, my husband, cats, dog, pygmy puffer fish and bearded dragon!

We’re really pleased to be able to offer a breast pump hire service at That Baby Place.
Pump collection and return take place by appointment at That Baby Place, BS48 3NW.

Hire options
There are two ways to hire a pump:
• Pump hire with a fl**ge fitting appointment
(recommended where possible)
This ensures the pump is as comfortable and effective as it can be for you, helping you get the most productive pumping experience.

• Pump hire with the standard fl**ge size
If a fitting appointment isn’t right for you, you’re welcome to hire the pump with the standard size supplied. We’re happy to support whatever feels right for you.

About our pumps
Our pumps are designed to support effective milk removal. You may hear them described as “hospital grade” we prefer to call them primary or tabletop pumps, as they’re intended for regular, reliable use.

You can choose between:
• Cleaned and sterilised reusable parts, or
• A brand new personal kit (available at an additional cost)

Timing & availability
We understand that pump hire is sometimes needed urgently for example, if you’ve been placed on a feeding plan. We aim to be as prompt and responsive as possible and will do our best to support you quickly.

• To hire a pump without a fl**ge fitting, contact us to arrange a convenient collection time.

Pricing
•From £35 for two weeks initial hire, then £35 for each additional month.
Additional costs depending on whether you attend for fl**ge fit and whether you choose new or sterilised returnable parts.
