Goldcrests are chirupping in the background and the buzzies are buzzing all around as I inspect the food forest.

Service berry has lived up to its name, they along with the honeyberries are well and truly over for this season. A few cherries remain. All were delicious and nutritious. There were enough for fair share with the birds and other critters.

Definitely time to harvest Gooseberries, Jostaberry and blackcurrants.

Looks like an excellent supply of pears, plums, damsons and apples ahead.

Blueberries coming along and the medlar has fruited well this year too.

Food Forest Bathing? It could become a thing.

The first wood at Whitehill is now mature enough to have oaks producing acorns, plenty of empty cups on the ground I think the fieldmice and squirrels are enjoying a change in diet ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ๐Ÿญ๐ŸŒณ

Green acorns still on trees but will they remain after Storm Ashley comes through tomorrow.

As the leaf litter builds on the oakwood floor Iโ€™m seeing more variety and volume of fungi ๐Ÿ„โ€๐ŸŸซ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

With the sunshine and relative warmth today there was an aroma from the crab apples that makes me want crumble and custard for tea. Though apparently the crab apple tannins are great for cider making ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคค

Finally the hawthorns fruit is turning deep red as the leaves drop. Iโ€™ve harvested some for seed processing, weโ€™ll see how it goes / grows ๐ŸŒฑ
