This World Mental Health Day, we take a moment to thank everyone who's used the Anglo Doorstep Collections service over the past year!

Since we launched the partnership in October 2024, you've donated a remarkable 74 tonnes of clothes and household items from your doorsteps. That's the same as the weight of 15 African elephants!

When you book an Anglo collection using our unique link (in the comments), it helps generate donations to Oxfordshire Mind, supporting local mental health services.

An impressive 95 per cent of your donated items are re-homed or reused, with only 5 per cent needing to be recycled.

It's ! This week is all about celebrating the everyday items we can recycle from home.

Did you know that we now collect toothpaste tubes for recycling? All you have to do is give it a good old squeeze and send it on its way to recycling heaven.

Not sure what other household items you can recycle? Check out the Waste Wizard to see how to dispose of your rubbish at, www.cherwell.gov.uk/wastewizard

The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm.

Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. You will not need to take any action.

The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if thereโ€™s a danger to life nearby, including extreme weather. Regular testing ensures the system is functioning correctly, should it need to be used in a life-threatening emergency.

Find out more at gov.uk/alerts

You can opt out of emergency alerts. For example, victims of domestic abuse with a concealed phone may find it appropriate to turn off alerts.

To find out more about opting out visit gov.uk/alerts/opting-out or watch Refuge's excellent video explainer: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1301678654732429
