Makaton at Noah’s Ark! 🙌👏👋

Our recent Makaton training was a fantastic success! The Care Team took part with incredible enthusiasm, learning a wide range of signs and symbols to help enhance communication and support.

For those unfamiliar, Makaton is a unique language programme that uses signs and symbols alongside speech to support understanding and expression, helping people of all ages and abilities communicate more effectively.

Ellie Butcher, Makaton Tutor, shared:
“It’s wonderful to see the dedication the Care Team has for learning Makaton. By embracing these new skills, even small changes can make a big difference in the support and care provided every day.”

Staff Spotlight ✨

From swimming laps and running miles to creating their own fundraising events, the Noah’s Ark team went above and beyond to support our From That Moment appeal.

And they got wonderfully creative!

Our talented team of music therapists hosted a Singing for the Soul workshop. People came together to learn harmonies, share the joy of singing, and raise vital funds for our families. Even better, every pound raised was matched, doubling the impact of their efforts!

We are so proud to have such a phenomenal, kind, and generous team. Thank you for all you do to make a difference every day. 🌟

Shaping the Future of Volunteering at Noah’s Ark ❤️

Over the past few months, we have partnered with University College London's Community Research Initiative to explore ways to make our volunteer community more representative of the children and families we support.

A talented group of student volunteers reviewed academic research and our own data, helping us identify opportunities for improvement and how to make volunteering at Noah’s Ark even more inclusive.

This collaboration with a university research volunteering initiative was our first, and it has been a huge success! Thank you to our UCL volunteers for their valuable insights, energy, and passion.

During Baby Loss Awareness Week, we took time at Noah’s Ark to quietly remember the babies who are no longer with us.

Families, visitors, staff, and volunteers were invited to tie a ribbon to our Memory Tree in The Ark’s atrium. Each ribbon, each name, represents a story, a love, and a memory that will always be cherished.

We are thankful to everyone who joined us in this moment of reflection and remembrance. 🩷💙

A Weekend to Remember. ❤️

Our Sibling Group recently enjoyed an unforgettable weekend away at JCA Adventure's Condover Hall in Shropshire. Set in beautiful countryside, the activity centre was the perfect place for children to explore, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun together.

From rope courses and climbing walls to lake adventures and team challenges, the weekend was packed with activities that encouraged confidence, friendship, and plenty of laughter.

Sibling trips like this are an important part of our Family Activities service. They give siblings the chance to step away from daily routines, spend time with others who understand their experiences, and enjoy a well-deserved break filled with adventure.

A huge thank you to The Barnaby Webber Foundation - BW53 for helping to give the children such a memorable and meaningful experience. ❤️

Willow’s Warriors take on the Royal Parks Half Marathon! 🏃‍♀️🎉

We had an extra special addition to our Team Noah runners this year: ‘Willow’s Warriors’, made up of Willow’s mum, Elaine, her best friend Sarah and her sister Eleanor. We have been supporting Elaine and Willow since 2020, so this challenge was a personal one - one Elaine took on to give back.

"Noah's Ark has done so much for us all, not just Willow, but my whole family. The events, the days out, everything is so amazing. We wanted to give something back, not just for us but for all the children and families they support."
