, a place of firsts. ❤️

The first swim, the first time communicating, the first friend made, the first time away from home.

We also celebrate what’s sometimes overlooked but just as precious: the laughter, the learning, the growing; the little moments that matter most. Because when the future is uncertain, moments mean everything.

By leaving a Gift in your Will, you can help hospice care live on for all, for now, forever. Find out how to support: https://noahsarkhospice.org.uk/support-us/donate/gift-in-wills

Meet Ashleigh. 🌟

Ashleigh has been volunteering at Noah’s Ark for two years. She started as a Home Support Volunteer and now plays a key role supporting our Drama Therapy Team with Sensory Stories - immersive, interactive sessions that bring stories to life for children of all abilities.

From The Very Hungry Caterpillar to The Grinch, Ashleigh helps with narration, learns Makaton signs, and supports creative activities that make each session inclusive, engaging, and accessible for every child.

“I don’t get to be too creative in my day job, so this is such a wonderful outlet for me.”

It’s thanks to the dedication and generosity of volunteers like Ashleigh that we can create these meaningful experiences every day. 💛

“Noah’s Ark has been the gateway to a better life.” ❤️

This touching note came from a sibling who wrote to our Family Activities team.

During Children’s Mental Health Week, we’re highlighting the mental health and emotional wellbeing of siblings, as well as the children who are seriously unwell. At Noah’s Ark, our support is always family-centred, with sibling activities offering space for connection, understanding and emotional support.

We’re grateful to families who share their experiences with us, and to our teams who make this support possible every day.

Care After Death. 🦋

At Noah’s Ark, our care doesn’t stop when a child dies. For many families, having time with their child after death is an essential part of saying goodbye, and we make sure they have the space and support to do that.

Our Butterfly Suite is a dedicated, calm and non-clinical space where families can spend time with their child after they’ve died. With family accommodation nearby, parents and siblings can remain close, supported by our team through every practical and emotional step, from memory-making to funeral arrangements and beyond.

It’s Marathon Time! 🏅🏃‍♀️

It was a pleasure to welcome some of our 2026 Team Noah Marathon runners to The Ark today. From London, Manchester, Amsterdam, Paris and Brighton, this incredible group of fundraisers came together to connect, share tips and motivation, and see firsthand the real impact their fundraising makes.

We were also joined by our partners, Body Logics, expert physiotherapists who offered invaluable advice, answered questions, and helped our runners prepare both physically and mentally for the road ahead.

We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way and can’t wait to see you give it your all. ❤️

Feeling inspired? We still have plenty of challenge events you can sign up for.

Leela’s Story ❤️

Leela was diagnosed with SMA-LED in 2016. She is non-mobile and non-speaking, and her family has faced countless challenges along the way.

Her mum, Lucy, recalls the hardest moments:
"It got to the stage where I was crying all the time. I didn’t know where to turn."

Then Noah’s Ark became part of their lives. With the support of Family Link Worker Maria and the Care Team, Leela’s family finally felt seen, supported, and part of a caring community.

"The Ark has been a godsend for us, a place where strangers really have become family."

From events and outings to ongoing care and guidance, Noah’s Ark has helped Leela and her family embrace the little moments that make life so meaningful.

Supporting Parents ❤️

At Noah’s Ark, we are here for families at every stage of their journey. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, helping with practical tasks, or creating special moments to enjoy together; our support is designed to make everyday life a little more manageable and a little more meaningful.

"If it wasn’t for Noah's Ark, we would have struggled to remain as positive and stay in that mindset in order to keep going for our family. It made us put on a brave face and gave us the mental strength and resilience to get our family through this.” Maria, mum to Arabella.

It’s okay not to be okay ❤️

Caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition can place an enormous emotional weight on parents. There may be moments of strength and resilience, but also moments of exhaustion, fear, and uncertainty - sometimes all in the same day.

Parental mental health doesn’t always look the way we expect. It can be quiet, deeply personal, and difficult to put into words. Many parents describe feeling pressure to stay positive, to keep going, or to be strong for others, even when they’re struggling inside.

Whatever you’re feeling is valid. There is no 'right' way to cope, and no single path this journey should follow.

Today, on Parental Mental Health Day, we want to recognise the parents carrying so much. You are seen. You are heard. And you are not alone.
