St Andrews House is a Nursing Home in the heart of Barnoldswick, we specialise in the care and treatment of Young Adults with physical disabilities and complex needs. We strive to provide our residents with excellent care, from our dedicated and highly skilled Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, whilst also ensuring it feels like home for all who come to our home. There is an excellent selection of amenities right on our doorstep in the wheelchair friendly town centre of Barnoldswick, and over the years, our residents have been regular visitors at the local shops, tearooms, pubs, library and swimming pool. The doctors, chemist, optician, and dentist are all within 100 yards. Our long association with the local people, participation of our residents in the Disability Access forums, and most local activities makes Barnoldswick a true extension of our home into the community. We have a total of twenty four beds in 20 spacious single rooms and 2 doubles with en-suite toilets and washbowls. Our double rooms are mostly used for friends or partners, or married couples when both have need for support and nursing input. The atmosphere is relaxed, homely and informal. We have an open door policy encouraging friends and relatives to visit easily and residents to come and go into the town centre as they wish, with help when needed, enabling everyone to enjoy being a full part of local life. St Andrew’s House is where people can really live…..the staff just facilitate their lives.

We Are All STRONGER TOGETHER!

🚨JOIN US🚨

On Tuesday 20th May at 2PM, we’re raising our voices online to defend a sector that holds our communities together.

This week, the Prime Minister announced plans to freeze overseas recruitment, cutting off a vital workforce lifeline for social care.

This comes just weeks after the refusal to fund Employers’ National Insurance Contributions (ENICs).

Enough is enough.

We’re defending:
• Care for millions of older and disabled people
• Support for unpaid carers who rely on respite
• 1.59 million workers, already stretched to breaking point
• A sector that adds £68.1 billion to the UK economy
• Services that save the NHS £35 for every £100 spent on care

💚 Social care is economic, social, and moral infrastructure.
We must act before it’s dismantled.

💚 Collective action works.

This week, Local providers came together under the Providers Unite umbrella and successfully challenged a council procurement process that would have excluded smaller, local providers—by prioritising 100% price and applying unfair “financial distress” rules.

Together, they submitted a joint complaint, filed a shared FOI, sought legal advice, and engaged directly with councillors.

As a result, the process has been withdrawn and will be redrawn (for now). The immediate challenge has been overcome.

This is the power of standing together. 🤝

Not just raising concerns, but changing outcomes.

Every voice, every action matters.
