We’ll be closing Function First for the rest of the week for a very special reason… We’re over the moon to share that we’ve welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl, Stevie! 🩷

The clinic will reopen as normal from Tuesday, 18th March, and we appreciate your understanding while we take this time as a family 🙏

The ATG Split Squat 🔥

The ATG (Athletic Truth Group) Split Squat is one of the best exercises for knee health, hip mobility, and lower-body strength. But for many, the biggest challenge isn’t just mobility—it’s balance. That’s why starting with a supported version is a smart move.

🔹 Why Use Support?

Holding onto an upright allows you to focus on depth, control, and proper knee-over-toes positioning without worrying about stability. This helps you safely build strength and mobility before progressing to an unsupported version.

🔹 Benefits of the ATG Split Squat:

✅ Strengthens the VMO & quads for better knee stability
✅ Improves hip flexor mobility through a loaded stretch
✅ Builds joint resilience and reduces injury risk
✅ Helps develop control without compensations

🔹 How to Get Started:

1️⃣ Hold onto a sturdy upright for balance
2️⃣ Lower slowly with control, allowing your knee to travel forward
3️⃣ Keep your front heel down and back leg extended
4️⃣ Push through your front foot to return to standing
