🌟 Our Final Memorial Service of the Year 🌟

Today, families from our Mexborough and Wath upon Dearne funeral homes came together in a heartfelt service to remember loved ones lost.

The service was beautifully led by Pastor Ed Archer Siddall at his stunning church, St. John’s Methodist Church, Swinton.

We were honored to have the support of our dedicated celebrants:

And a special thank you to Reverend John Armstrong from St. Mary’s Church, Wombwell, for his presence and words of comfort.

Supporting BIADS – Together We Make a Difference! 💖

Recently, Nicola Ward and Patsy Asquith had the privilege of delivering a donation raised by Newsomes Funeral Directors in Shafton and our amazing local community to the incredible team at BIADS (Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support).

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to present a fantastic total of £331.89! 🎉

Every penny will go towards supporting families affected by dementia in our area, and we couldn’t be prouder to play a small part in helping such a vital cause.

Thank you to everyone who contributed and continues to support our community initiatives. Together, we make a real difference. 💙

🎄Thank You for Joining Our Annual Christmas Memorial Service 🎄

Phil and the team would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the families in our community that we have had the privilege of supporting over the past 12 months, who joined us for our annual Christmas Memorial Service at St Thomas Church, Gawber.

The service was beautifully led by Phil Maries, with wonderful contributions from celebrants Rachel Marsden, Kathryn Methley, and Andrew Platts.

A huge thank you to Barnsley Brass for providing the music that made the evening so special.

We also want to give a special mention to Denise Hall, who generously gave her time to assist her husband and our team on the night—helping with refreshments and the clean-up afterwards. Your kindness truly made a difference.

During the night we also raised £110 from generous donations in aid of Barnsley Hospice, Thankyou! 💖

Thank you all for coming together to remember loved ones and share in this meaningful occasion. Wishing you peace and comfort this Christmas season. 🌟

Thank You for Joining Our Annual Christmas Memorial Service🎅

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the families we have had the privilege of caring for, who joined us at our annual Christmas Memorial Service at St John the Baptist, Cudworth.
The service was beautifully led by Canon Darren Percival BEM SSC, creating a truly special evening of remembrance.

A special thank you to the incredible Newsomes team at Shafton for organizing such a wonderful event, and to John Bashforth, the talented church organist, for providing the perfect music throughout the night. We are also deeply grateful to church wardens Chris and Rita for their support.
