Why our workshops are so much more than 'boxercise' 🧡

The video above from our gorgeous short film illustrates one of the many other activities we use in our workshop spaces - our use of visual imagery. In the safe hands of an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Schema Therapist, you're supported to access the strong, wise and supportive voice within you - the highest version of yourself. The part of you, you can always turn to, as we navigate, in the words of Prince, 'getting through this crazy thing called 'life'.

I'm curious, how much time do you have to play in your adult life?

What counts as play? What does it feel like? These are some questions that come up in my thinky brain when I think of playing.

I'm coming to the conclusion though, that play is less about 'what' we're doing, and more about the intent we bring to the activity. And there's nothing like witnessing embodied play in action to bring this to life. In this clip, I really enjoyed playing with Rob Szymanek, Schema informed music coach, hearing about his experience of one of our playful therapeutic boxercise workouts.

Time off was needed - and I'm back. With a new name and relaunch!

Our project has evolved over time, and a name and brand that reflects this felt needed. Something that embraces yin, yang and everything in between, symbolising values close to my heart: authenticity, softness, playfulness, creativity, integrity, warmth and boldness.

And so, here I am, introducing "Blooming Loud".

The heart of the project is the same, in that my passion remains to empower women, from all walks of life, through movement. I've also shared some info on small and important changes below:

- all workshops and classes are all evidence-based and therapy informed
- I now work with children, adolescent and adult women
- all future workshops will be crafted to support mental well-being, supporting women to connect to their bodies and understand/meet their emotional needs
- while boxercise is part of what I offer in workshops, I will also use a range of other creative and sensory approaches to support well-being; drawing, music, imagery, sound, expressive movement
- In essence, the focus of our workshops is on therapeutic play, incorporating many different creative and movement mediums to facilitate this

Super excited to be crafting a new workshop for young girls in North Devon, in partnership with Encompass Southwest as part of the 'My Way' project

I'll be taking inspiration from body-based parts work and 'playful parenting' to support young women to befriend their anger, using it as a force to be bold and brave in the world 🥊🙏⭐

THE SHORT FILM HAS DROPPED! 🎬

I have been waiting for IWD to share a sneak peek, of the amazing short film we've had produced by Asiya Sutton.on our Bristol workshop -
SOFT STRENGTH SESSION - BOXERCISE FOR CREATIVE SOULS 🥊

When Asiya contacted me to suggest producing a film about the Warrior Women Project, we got excited pretty quickly. We wanted to showcase and bring to life what a beautiful sight it is seeing women empowered, shining in all their authentic light.

This film goes beyond any words I could share, and truly captures the energy of the soul work and energy shifts that happen in our spaces. The power of therapeutic movement, and in this case, boxercise, for strengthening mind-body connection is a sight to behold.

This clip showcases the lovely Imogen, sharing some beautiful words towards the end of our workshop together about using movement to connect with inner strength.

We're planning on organizing a local viewing here in North Devon, to celebrate the project and the wonderful who features in the film and generously shares her experience of classes.

It's been such a pleasure being part of this event - all about promoting how Schema Therapy can be applied to everyday life.

Sarah Pagdin Susan Simpson and Dr. Robert Szymanek have worked relentlessly to make happen and it's been amazing to hear of the donations raised for two brilliant Ugandan Mental Health Services.

I've personally gained so much from accessing talks from a plethora of experienced and creative clinicians, all using schema therapy in their own unique way; from coaching music, dating, understanding your innate temperament, dancing, finding more joy in life, dog training, and much more!

We're open to exploring new venues for our boxing therapy classes! We would like to try a range of different venues and are pretty open minded!

2026 workshops with us are going to be looking a little different.

I'll be spending the next couple of months weaving in ideas and movement exercises to embrace and tune in to vulnerability, while also connecting with strength.
What amazing bodies we have as humans, to be able to hold multiple experiences at once 😍
...And I'm so excited to play with these new ideas together this year!

DID SOMEBODY SAY FREE THERAPY!?

Excited to announce that I'll be crafting and creating a
new FREE package on breaking out of old coping patterns through using movement, heart and grit!
I'll be mixing and remixing content that we know works, through our tried and tested pilots and evaluations of boxing therapy. I'll also be sprinkling in some of my favourite schema therapy and polyvagal techniques to pack a nervous system punch! 🥊

I can't wait to share this beautiful creation with you.
I've set myself a deadline of the end of February, so keep your eyes peeled!
