We will be down at the Millennium Hall / Twerton Village Hall tonight from 7pm to 9pm. Hope to see you there

We will be down at the Millennium Hall / Twerton Village Hall this Thursday between 7pm and 9pm.

We offer a safe, non judgemental space for men to come and talk about their previous or current mental health issues. We are there for men to talk and our facilitators can share their own life experience of mental health issues so we can sign post men and hopefully help them make sense of life in general.

Please come along and have a cuppa with a biscuit. It's hard to build up the courage to walk through the door but we will be there to meet you and introduce you to the other group members. You will be made to feel very welcome. You don't need to share anything if you don't feel comfortable, feel free to just sit and listen to the other guy's and we hope you will be able to take something away from the conversations we have.

For those of you who know a man that is struggling please talk to them and give them encouragement to come along. Please give them the support they need to come along and feel free to drop them off and meet our facilitators or volunteers at the door.

To all the men out there - There's no need for you to feel alone and you will feel the benefits of getting stuff off your chest.

Don’t rush things, take it slow and steady yourself.

Healing yourself takes time and effort.

It won’t happen overnight but that’s ok.

We live within a society where everyone wants a quick fix and results right away but on this occasion unfortunately it doesn’t work like that.

You must be consistent with your effort to make yourself feel better about yourself and your life.

That requires change and doing things differently.

Talking , connecting with others, movement….. so many things you can try but the worst thing you can do right now is nothing!!

Let’s talk about it.

All those unhealthy and unhelpful thoughts you keep having must get very hard to cope with at times.

Weighing you down.

A heavy burden to carry at times.

But don’t believe everything you think 💭

You must build up some trust from within.

Talking is a very powerful tool.

Remember how strong you are and how many times you’ve got back up and kept pushing forward.

Let’s talk about it

Men will eventually reach out and ask for support but at that stage, most of the time, they are in or close to crisis.

See they think it’s showing weakness and feel ashamed or embarrassed.

holding your hands up and saying you need some support maybe one of the hardest things you’ll ever have to do But by doing so you are showing a huge amount of true strength and accountability.

Showing vulnerability can be daunting place but that’s where growth happens.

We say this a lot but it’s true. You can live and happy and fulfilling life alongside struggling with your mental health.

But you must talk, you must address your issues and concerns.
You must throw yourself into understanding yourself more and develop as a person. You must make your mental health your top priority.

Let’s talk about it
